kopierkatze
Hi!Many internet services restrict access to their services to visitors from certain countries...E.g. you can't reach "hulu.com" from outside the US, and the same applies to many YouTube videos...Therefore I'd like to get a proxy with an US IP.I know there won't be any free solutions, but I would like a rather low priced solution.I already thought about getting an low priced virtual server (VPS) that will be used only for that purpose... I could just install some VPN or proxy daemon for use by myself only.Do you have any other ideas to get an US IP? Are there any commercial VPN or proxy services you can recommend? Chris`
I use Tor whenever i need to access a site that requires i need to be from a certain location. And best of all... It's FREE :w00t:
kopierkatze
Yes, but Tor is rather unreliable and SLOW. Not really an option if you want to watch videos...
Razinal
Here's a review on some of the most popular VPN providers. I personally use Expat Shield (UK-based) but you can try out the ones that provide a US server and the choose for yourself. PS: Do note that Expat Shield (UK) and Hotspot Shield(US) are same and both display adverts so it's necessary to filter them out in Firefox with Adblock+ and NoScrip
RadioActive
I second Razinal's suggestions, try look for a VPN. You might have pay for it though to get adequate speed but it might be worth it.
Kojootti
Yes, but Tor is rather unreliable and SLOW. Not really an option if you want to watch videos...You shouldn't expect anything with being a FREE service being as FAST as your DIRECT CONNECTION,you do get faster connectionswith the thing mentioned below if you become a paying member. That's how it simply is with every "company" providing services like this.Faster lines are reserved for paying customers.Sometimes free proxies work fast, sometimes slow/very slow, that's how it just goes..Try "HideMyAss" which is located in the u.s. Free service, pro costs and gives extra...Homepage:http://hidemyass.com/

rseiler
usvideo.org has a lot of fans over at DSL Reports. It's not a VPN service but rather a clever DNS service.

PS: Do note that Expat Shield (UK) and Hotspot Shield(US) are same and both display adverts so it's necessary to filter them out in Firefox with Adblock+ and NoScrip I tried Expat Shield as well. I am on Win7 Ultimate x86. I am using KAV 2010. This is a sort of information needed, because i have a problem. On my first install of Expat Shield everything was great. I was asked to install drivers for VPN network (hss adapter) everything is easy to configure etc. It worked. However the problem was that i decided to uninstall everything and reinstall it later. On my second install i was unable to connect because hss adapter driver was not installed properly. I was not asked for installation and the main problem is that those drivers are unsigned. The Expat Shield Service cannot launch because hss adapter driver is not installed and detected properly. Can someone help? I am not behind any firewall, my routers one is enough. But how it is possible that on first install everything is OK, on second not? Sometimes i can`t connect but the availability rate is like 90%. :)
