Where do you get your games from?

I've tried some sites but the file sizes are too big for a free user to download. eg Filesonic etc over 400mb :(

Must be somewhere better for people without premium memberships?

I have gotten some from Torrents and they were all good, try to follow release names and most important, uploader.

I always get the game from torrent/HTTP and then look for latest patch/update/extra and then a proper crack from a famous group.

Had no problems so far.

You don't even need some fancy private tracker for that... even old TPB and Demonoid have the games released by scene groups uploaded rather quickly.

Staff Note: Moved to Filesharing Chat.

You wont find games only in rare cases. Otherwise yes, I'm using TPB from years and normally most big games are out on the day scene groups release them.

I do get most from Steam, but I'd like a longer demo first <_<

What is a.b.games?

get newsgroup access. you can google it and or chck it out in the forums. newsleecher as the reader. i use giganews for now. some usa ips might still offer free newsgroup access but with week or less retention. alt.binaries.games is the name of the newsgroup where most new shit goes. :Pyou dont need to update. there is no one able to see what you have on your computer. you are able to max down your speed. so a 50 MB you could actually get 250 GB in 12 hours. though your ip might get a little upset for actually using your internet.

Im not sure, if TPB is a secure place to download the newest games. :P

But as torrent @ a private and closed BT tracker it`s a really good cause.

For me its source related, more sources from torrents i use that, more

from OCH i use OCH (with jDownloader or Cryptload and reconnect).

For the newsgroups, there are some provider that offers a trial period

for testing, if you use hushmail.com and always different personal data

while registering for the trial ( be creative  ) you can get unlimited

trials.

Good ways indeed.:)

Yeah, downloading stuff from public trackers is getting riskier by the day. You can bet that in the huge TPB swarms for top-rated games/movies there will always be some IP-harvesting bot or something... and you never know who might get picked next to be crucified on the P2P altar.

You nailed it. ^_^

But for everybody who likes a little bit action on open trackers

he can use that to push his pulse to the limit, no risk no fun.

I've had a look at the Newsleecher stuff but all I saw was payed subscriptions. If the trials work without adding payment details I might try that. I've always wanted to use Usenet but never understood it before

Any free ones recommended? Giganews looks great but pricey for the amount of use I'd give it. Thanks for all the replies, it seems we all have different views. :D

I mostly get games from torrents, and some free ones from Steam.

I got the Kings Bounty games from Steam @ 80% off :dance2: been waiting for those to appear on sale. Also a few torrent games so I think that will keep me going for a while. If I can stop playing Minecraft that is

I tend to buy from steam when they are on offer.

If I pirate them which I don't tend to do very often which is weird considering all the other stuff I pirate I use (Both are private sites)

BitGamer - For newer games

Underground-Gamer - For older games

Edit:added fact that links are private trackers
