For me the best way is to modified XP by ur own ;)

I totally agree, but there's one i would really recommend. That's Windows XP Black Edition, it's very stripped down but it's FAST!

for visual style I would recommend either Vista Inspirat 2.0 or Vista transformation pack 7.0 although you should wait for the release of 8.0 for more bugs/fixes to be made...other than that if you want more detailed info pm me and I might be able to help you :)

i don't recommend using any of the stripped OSs.i used many of these releases and all i got was great pain in my head.

if you like xp with vista look i'd recommend VISTAMIZER :) .It is great application and modifies many .dll files than any other one.

Modify it by urself is the best way indeed but requires knowledge and assuming i'm not any winXP master, there's a lot more tweak to be done that i don't know, so maybe installing some already tweaked OS and so afterwards add what you already knows could bring u better performance i suppose. I'm going to try TinyXP Platinum v2 by eXperience.
