shought
I'll bet you 10 euro that at least twice the amount of traffic passes this intersection (as compared to one with traffic lights in the same time).
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 11, 2011 Administrator Share Posted May 11, 2011 Small city, wrongly placed dividers (where you have to take long roads to make u-turns) and traffic signals not working, don't see a big deal (from the drivers' side). toyo
LOL.DKT: You must see how it looks in a European city :) Then you will understand why are we so amazed, surprised and everything else.
shought
I'm just amazed by how efficient this is... I mean yes it does look incredibly chaotic and is probably more dangerous, but at the same time because it is more dangerous people are careful. Best of all: women probably don't even dare to drive over there :P (So it's much safer if you think about it )Traffic lights are very frustrating when driving a car, especially when they are not 'optimized' (which is the case in a lot of places). I don't mean timing-wise, but just if the opposite side 'turn right-light' is green, all the other lights are on red then my 'turn right-light' should be green as well, but yet there I am, waiting for a non-existent car to pass by... Rajesh
Actually, in india, It is better if there is no traffic light.. People drive faster at traffic intersections in order to beat the red light. :-oBTW, this video looks so nice from a driver's point of view.. Less traffic compared to what i am used to. :-)I drive regularly in US and india. But my brother, who learnt his driving in US, will never touch a car in india. :-)
ck_kent
Like a well-oiled machine. :D This is like the one in Bee Movie (don't know if you guys watched that :D)I remember a few years ago from watching DW-TV (Deutsche Welle), there was a town/city in Europe (forgot if it was in Amsterdam) where the mayor removed all the traffic lights and signs and vehicles are only allowed up to 20km/hr and pedestrians can cross just about anywhere on the street. They said it was actually effective and some even said they arrive sooner at their destination.
