Tweety.Abd
Hello,I downloaded PowerDVD 11 and registered it sucessfully. But there's one major problem I'm facing, and it's about the same problem I faced with PDVD 10. The issue is when I try to play *.MKV files, specially larger than 4 GB in size, it stucks in between, gets pixellated, and just keeps on freezing, but then resumes playing after being stuck for a few seconds. The video file is perfectly fine because it works perfectly on Nero Kwik Media, and VLC without any issues, but I'm not sure why it gets stuck in between in PDVD. My computer specs:i3 370M @ 2.40 GHz4 G.B. DDR3 | 6 G.B. Virtual Memory320 G.B. HDD | 70% freeAMD Mobility HD 4650 660/825Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Maintainance Pack 1I contacted the Cyberlink support, and they offered my various resolutions, but all of them were futile. The support reached an impasse when I provided them with SR No. (Not to be misunderstood with Activation Key), and when I did, they figured out that I had no purchase details, and thus asked me to prove my purchase. I initially contacted them saying I were on Trial, but the SR No. exposed me, and I'm not longer in a position to contact them for support. I'd like to know if anyone here could help me out on this issue. I prefer PDVD over other players mainly because of TruTheatre features, such as smooth playback, etc. Things I've done to try to fix it: 1. Selecting only Windows necessary start-up through "msconfig". Results: No difference at all. 2. Reducing/Turning off TruTheatre features entirely. Results: No difference. 3. Increasing Windows "Swap" file. Results: No difference either. 4. Updating drivers, etc. Results: No differenceI'd be grateful if anyone could help me out on here. Thank you. Jim64
I've got the same problem. It will play lots of MKV files, but freezes at scene changes. These files play perfectly in other players, but with the upscaling of PowerDVD it does show a great improvement in quality.Size of file isn't an issue as I'm playing the scene releases of 1.09gb a TV episode. But I've played DVDs and other *.AVI file (up to 2 G.B.) without any issues. Just wanted to know, have you contacted with CyberLink about your issue? If you haven't, it'd be good to try, but just don't make sure you have a Trial version SR_No. otherwise, you can remove the retail version and install a trial version just to get the SR_No. It can be found in the registry (Regedit). And you can try out some of the things I've tried. Like "msconfig", increasing swap file, and updating video & audio drivers. I'd like to know your system specs, if that's alright. msmandy
I have the same problem. Just installed some mkv codecs to see if it will help....it did not. I know that step should not be necessary but I thought I would try. I noticed in the default set up mkv file playback was not checked. I went into settings and checked this. This too did not help. I hope someone posts a solution.

Try downloaded PDVD from torrent which isn't preactivated. I'd recommend downloading a trial version and upgrading it to Ultra using the key, but I'm not sure if trial version can be upgraded (but I could be wrong). If you have Revo Uninstaller, uninstall PDVD with it and select "Aggressive Mode" so all the left overs are removed, restart your laptop, and then download and install the following PDVD 11 Ultra:Site: http://goo.gl/ Sharecode: H5bgB [?]It should work, if it doesn't, then you need to format and install a fresh copy of Windows Ultimate. P.S. GT 230M bundled with i7 QM720? You should've gotten at least a GTX 260M with the i7, 230M isn't something you bundle along with an i7, but anyways, try upgrading your video drivers, etc.
