  • Ever wished you could pack an entire application into one single .EXE and take it with you anywhere without having to reinstall it every time?
  • At work, at home, on your laptop, at a friend...
  • Ever wanted to avoid having to reinstall all your applications every time you change, upgrade or reformat your computer?
If so, application virtualization is probably what you need.
Cameyo is a free application virtualization software that helps the user to use installed application on any machine.
This would seem puzzling but Cameyo does just that. This free application virtualization software captures and in fact records the installation of any application that the user wants it to record.
How Cameyo Works --
1. Launch Cameyo's Packager:

2. Wait for the Packager to capture a pre-installation snapshot of your system in its current state.

3. Once the snapshot is taken, the following window will appear:

At this point, install the software you wish to package:

If you wish the virtual package to always start with a certain configuration or to retain login, passwords etc, start it now and configure it the way you want it to run.
4. When your software finished installing, press "Install done" on Cameyo's packager window. Cameyo will again take a few minutes to establish a snapshot of your system (this time post-installation) and analyze the differences.
5. You're done! The package is placed under the "My documents\Cameyo packages" folder:

Using the Package --
You can launch your virtual package (.virtual.exe) file on any computer.
Upon the first time, it will pre-load the package and extract the basic files. This is why why the first execution is always somewhat slower.
If your package is running in "Isolated" mode (default), it will not be able to unstabilize your system or leave any traces, and can be completely removed at any time using the "-Remove" command.
To remove a virtual application, just type the path of its executable followed by "-Remove". For example:
"C:\My Packages\OpenOffice.virtual.exe -Remove"

Cameyo Features ---
  • The user can edit the packages recorded by the packager using the inbuilt package editor.
  • The user can also edit the file systems and in the package and Registry entries corresponding to the application.
  • The packages can be run on multiple systems seamlessly and while doing so, the user can also run the package's .exe file in an isolated mode. This does not affect the functioning of the system.
  • The user can also update and change the virtual packages from time-to-time.
  • Editing the environmental variables and changing the packages' configurations using command line input is also possible.

All these features make Cameyo, one of a kind software to use to run applications on a number of systems, without having to install them every time separately.
