elohelomg
If you use bittorrent or any other torrent downloader, do you download em' behind some form of proxy, or, just dgaf and go head on with it?Lately i've been getting slightly worried about torrent, and, was wondering how/what you guys use to go unnoticed. toyo
People willing to pay a monthly fee can get a seedbox/VPS or something like that. This monthly fee varies pretty much, the more you pay the better speed and the more space you get. Free services are just very, very slow.Depending on where you live, how tough are copyright laws and if they are applied and also if you have access to private trackers (still a little better than going all out on TPB), it's your decision if you are willing to take the risk or not. I think it's good that you started to research this issue, because my gut feeling (it's just a feeling, tho') says that in the next years things will get messy. RobrPatty
There are a few options that might help. 1st you could use PeerBlock (Home page). It helps block bad ips. And as mentioned above a VPN is a great way to go. BTGuard is a good reliable one. And its been around awhile. (BTGuard). Heck you can use both at the same time to double your protection. majithia23
one small setting in the uTorrent client is --- Outgoing Protocol Encryption set to Forced or Enable ..... the client will encrypt your connections and also accept only encrypted connections , helps to improve security and some times by pass ISP throttling ... :)and use Peerblock , blocking all the bad ip's and the tracking ip's , and you can even add your custom ip's or get some custom lists from the home page and add it to the client , increases security quite well , :)( it will not give 100% protection , but in the words of the developers, when asked about the level of security Peerblock provides, its like - " when 2 people are chased by a Lion , the one running faster has a better chance of survival ! ;) )and your other/best bet is a Paid High Anonymity Proxy Service or a VPN service , like BTGuard .there are plenty of paid options for a anonymity service available .when UltraVPN was alive , it used to support Torrent , and it was free and fast ...its dead as of now .... you could try TOR , but it would give you horrible snail speeds ....:mellow:so try and see for your self , what would you want ... (ps.-- where i live , no body cares about piracy . download what you want , when you want , as many times you want , from where ever you want . ^_^ )
