It will depend on what type of activation method you used, but most of the time a simple windows update will not deactivate your copy of windows. So giving us more info on what method you used to activate your copy of windows 7 would help.

its a bit different to XP upgrade etc- if it has been modified heavily- might go weird, so newer version inn- do full repair, then use DAZ or other proper activator- then go on-line and update accordingly- no nonsense to be expected. My $0.02ct  .

First of all, I suggest you to remove your existing activation if possible, then use the latest version of DAZ Loader and then go for updates, you may also update the Windows first and then activating it, There is also possibility your Windows get not deactivated.

@ Archaven

I would backup my data & than do a fresh install of window7 & use Daz loader to activate it. But before doing this try to update the windows and see what happens.... than maybe all you need to validate it & windows will be activated...;)

That says it all.

Go to MyDigitalLife Forums and download WAT Fix from DAz and use it, then install Windows Loader.

Hey guys thanks so much for your help but uh-oh.. i seem to have a problem now. Here is what i did:

1. Downloaded the WAT fix, applied it.

2. I use the Windows Loader v2.0 by DAZ and my status became: Notification (Untouched).

3. I installed DAZ loader and rebooted but my Windows 7 became not genuine :(

What can i do?

Try Daz again. This time, go into advanced tab and select/re-select your manufacturer manually (I believe all three options should be the same). Somehow it has failed on me whenever I didn't do the above. So yea, don't worry, it will work for sure. ^_^

Also, incase the trial is already expired, and then you fix it with Daz, the wallpaper will remain black, please change it yourself. :)

Thanks all.. I followed DAZ suggestion and validate the copy through Windows online. Is that a good thing to do? Surprisingly after validation.. It became genuine..

Yup it's fine. That's because Daz inserts a genuine OEM key. You can download all the genuine OS softwares from Microsoft now, even keep Windows Updates fully ON. :)

Those keys (OEM) is contributed by many ppls in that forums. Those keys can be extracted through a OEM machine that come with Windows 7.
