HI!

Do you like TRIAL ESET versions more than COMMERCIAL ESET VERSIONS? WHY??? Can you give me some explanation, please?

I'm not understanding why you don't like "NodLogin" & "Grabador" fixes that works OK over COMMERCIAL ESET versions. Can you explain me?

Thanks in advanced!!! :)

For those who are using Nodlogin, here is a note from Chappy, who help to test it:

First & foremost, my undying Gratitude to Ulises for making the most

useful piece of software I have on my computer, and many Thanks to all

those who help in this project and moderate the group list.

My NodLogin for Vista 64bit is working perfectly and I couldn't be

happier!!

It's hard not to notice the amount of concern that the change of color

in the NOD32 icon can cause in the Group lately, and hopefully I can

help ease some of those concerns a little for you all.

I was an independant tester of "New & Unknown Varients" for major Anti-

Virus and Anti-Malware companies for 7 years, until most companies

became big enough to employ as many testers as they needed and no

longer used independant testers. I've also been a Beta Tester for Eset

products for 5 years now, so I know how their products work. This is

just a little background on me to show you that I know how antivirus

and virus works.

The icon color change really means very little and in no way does it

affect how your protection is working or make you any more vulnerable

to attack. The color change is only showing that the current license

is about to expire, but your virus signature database is (or should

be) still current and the Nod32 product is still functioning properly

even if the icon color is orange or red. Even if your signature

database is slightly behind, maybe 1 or 2 updates behind, you are in

no real danger of becoming infected by something from the updates you

don't have, and here's the reason why. Most of the new virus

signatures added to daily updates are not "In The Wild" varients, they

are usually only "Proof of Concept" varients which are not actually

being used in public so there's really no chance of anyone becoming

infected by one. Only 1 or 2 of the hundreds of new signatures added

every week are actually "In the Wild" types which are being used in

public on a very limited basis, so again it's highly unlikely that

anyone would run into one. But even if you are unlucky enough to be

one of the very few that does run into something bad that's not in

your signature database yet, the excellent heuristics engine of Nod32

would most likely still detect and stop it, so you're still well

protected.

Most of this is still not a big deal because normally the next time

NodLogin is activated, you'll recieve a new license and things will be

good once again in short order. As far as I've seen, the orange color

is merely indicating that the license will expire in 3 or 4 days so

everything is still working 100% and there's nothing to worry about

since you'll probably run NodLogin before then and a new license will

be inserted for you.

The Red color "usually" indicates that the license is expired, but

your antivirus product is still fully functional and you probably have

a current or very close to current database, so the chances of

becoming infected is nearly impossible still because of what I

explained above. If the red colored icon is indicating something other

than the license having expired and there really IS a problem with

your protection, Nod32 will inform you of this with a popup message

telling you what the problem is so you can look after it properly. So

just to sum this up, the Nod32 AV scanner and engine doesn't stop

working when the icon color changes, so your still fully protected,

and the chances of being infected if you're missing an update or two

is practically zero.

I really hope that this explanation helps to ease the concerns of some

people when they see that icon has changed color. You're not in any

danger and it's only temporary.

I'm sorry this is all in English, hopefully someone in the group can

translate it for the non English speakers in the group if they have

time.

Take Care everyone!

i have used trial althrough and i get module updates once in 10 days or so! Modules maybe bug fixes for the program! recently i have deactivated the module update becos i think it could result in inactivation of the trial fix i use! I believe that definition updates are the one that u need for protection against viruses

marsupilami

With some advanced registry-hack, u dont need to have any fix/files to have 31 days trial.... mine never change from 31 days... :sneaky:

Don´t even need to reboot

HAHA... I got The New Boxforever... and I see that my reg-tweak was similar......

I don´t have the issue with scheduler... will see tomorrow if Tray-icon will show the right database

Same here. All of these Box fixes are confusing. That's why I'm using TemDono 1.2.
