Zeus_Hunt
FreeRip is a freeware Windows application that lets you save audio CD tracks to Wav, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis or FLAC audio files (this process is known as "ripping"). FreeRIP is also an audio file converter and it can convert audio files from one of the named formats to another.Download

MrVoice
Has anyone compared this to Winamp for ripping? I was wondering, specifically, if FreeRip's FLAC engine has better compression. That would probably be my only reason to switch.
Samurai
I've been using FreeRIP for many years. I haven't switched to Winamp's although I did try it.Thing is with FreeRIP is that it's so easy to use. Simply state what you want to rip the file to, ie mp3 - your chosen bitrate, and whether you want it as CBR or VBR. Give it a whirl and let us know what you think of it. There may be some options in there that I've missed as I haven't needed to use the app in a few weeks.
