New Microsoft Prototype Interface Is Intelligent

While we don't yet know what Windows 8 will look like or how it'll work, a new video gives a glimpse of what the future of Windows could be like. Recently a couple journalists, including Todd Bishop from TechFlash, were invited to the Microsoft campus to see the latest and greatest from Microsoft.

In the above video, Craig Mundie, Microsoft's chief research and strategy officer, shows off a new user interface that could conceivably be incorporated into Windows 8.

This prototype interface can be controlled by a gesture device separate from your computer. In the video you see that Mundie is able to navigate through an integrated system of "bubbles" that can include contacts, a calendar, Twitter, Facebook, and more. The system highlights certain items that are more important, like for instance, a canceled plane flight had a red notice on it. After Mundie clicked on the "bubble," it told him what was wrong and then made new suggestions; it even rearranged his schedule to accommodate for whichever one of those suggestions he chose.

Well that's just fantastic. Not only do we have learning robots and super-smart computers that pawn Jeopardy champs (which may someday bring on the robot apocalypse), but we'll soon have a UI which can make suggestions for us. Soon it'll suggest that we welcome our new computer overloads.
