Well, yeah, I just saw this video posted few hours ago, something is going on ...

They killed websites that even has links , torrents and anything related to illegal material.

thepiratebay.org is already down , doesn't have that banner but still , it's down ...

I'm afraid warez days will be over soon people ...

thepiratebay is working now for me as well, it didn't when I posted and I checked it with www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com , it was down there too.

Guess "they" are focused now on child pornography and sports sites , but "they" can easily do the same thing for warez sites in the near future.

We'll see ... but it doesn't look good, man ... I used atdhe.net for years ... it's a shame.

hello mr.shajit i like to say only one thing (i.e.) usa has capacity and power to do anything in this world, they can make or even break anything in this world. practically no offense against usa people :nono: . but politicians are capable of doing things in the name of national security. :duh:

ps: just a joke, mr.shajit :welcome: to the world of pathetic. :) cool ha :coolwink:

Staff Note: Moved to Filesharing Chat.

@shajt: Don't worry man. I've got some good news for you. :)

This had happened couple of weeks (or less) ago. Inside 24 hours, they got the site back, up and running at atdhe.tv. But somehow even that has gone now. But, it seems they are back as atdhenet.tv. ^_^

If my guess it correct, US has no control over TPB cause I'm sure they would have not associated themselves with ICANN or Verisign (read somewhere that you can do that a be a bit more safe). And TPB has a history of going down and coming back. This ship will never sink. Even if it does, there are other ships out there that would carry it's booty . ;)

EDIT:

Staff Note: Sorry guys. My mistake. Moved to the Chat Bar.

I'm not worried , I don't even use TPB , but that banner that I posted in first post, the one you get when you try to open atdhe , is not a good sign.

I mean, Homeland Security can now shutdown websites of their choosing whenever they want.

Streaming sports events ... I mean .. cmon

I can always manage if adthe is down , but you must wonder ... what's next

Logic says warez...

You have software , movies, music industry ... if they are concerned about sports then they are surely concerned more for these categories as well.

It's just that there are so MANY sites with warez that they will have a hard job putting them all down.

It's one thing that they bring some site down, that happened before of course, but that Homeland Security banner is another matter.

It's just a beginning , that's what I'm saying.

Piracy can never be killed. :D

Just for keeps, this is the article that gives some info about what happened.

And I was wrong, they didn't shift to atdhe.tv at all. It was atdhenet.tv all the way after the original site's takedown.

Never say never :P

btw read carefully italic part of that banner.

Of course it's not gonna happen overnight , but it's a step forward in shutting down internet completely , with only some sites available which Homeland Security deem fit.

They don't care man about warez, movies, sports , this is just a beta testing for information censorship which is a real concern for them.

Internet is a powerful weapon and they surely don't have a control over it right now.

But if you watch news you can see that they are pushing it real hard towards "internet kill switch"

Watch this short clip from CNN :

hmmm, it seems like their allay ~ Mubarak ~ was taught this solution back in time when he shut down the internet in Egypt

Man are u really worrying about websites ?! they have killed more than 2 millions of Iraqi in the name of WMD ^_^

and they didn't find them (because they didn't exist) , it's the same lullaby right now for internet (child pornography  )

You know after awhile this start to look like a ' Pinky and the Brian ' episode... I am not saying who's who.. or anything.. I just see more confusions.... and well.. 5h17 flying back and forth when its clear cut... You want to Kill the Kill Switch.. ( instead f flopping about like dying Tuna ) ...sign the Petition that you can get to by going to my Profile and looking at my status updates.. go to Change.org and sign somethings you stand for and back it.. Made huge steps and changes.. which I am glad to have been a part of .. if yo want something done.. get the facts..view them all weight it out and make a decision of which way to go.. and don't go in partisan... go in as human.. Make Global and International change...

if piratebay is seized I will cry...

dude do not worry about thepiratebay any more, they dead or alive. but there torrents never die becoz of so many alternative already in place. :dance2: for eg: bitsnoop, kickasstorrent, 1337x, and some others indexing the same torrents. so do not worry, if all fails torrentz is there. concept is simple straight forward, one goes thousand comes.

ps: i really hate to say this  public trackers are loosing their shine stars becoz of people never seed back what they taken, so i am serious about one thing, sooner or later no more public tracker everything private and have to follow somebody's rule. :P

I for one use only public trackers and keep atleast 2.0 ratio. :)

I've noticed one thing, people who are regular torrent users do seed unless there's some problem with the download or they don't feel the download is worth. This gives some ideas about whether to download it or not.

I agree that piracy cannot be stopped. However, what Corporate World aims is not stopping piracy, they are trying to make infringing content hard to access by the Average Joe.

Seeds are decreasing day by day. Any software that I actually want the seeds are like 10 and when I start downloading it is at 0 and I checked my firewall and everything and thanks kmr1684. I will try those torrent sites ^_^

1 - the site was wrong

2 - people take but don't give back :/

Exactly that, also some people get edgy over seeding publically as they feel they will get caught easier, and therefore more liable for prosecution as opposed to just downloading content they shouldn't, I for one do not use any public trackers but that is just me.
