Preset for video backup with best quality/compression :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<MediaCoderPrefs>
<node key="overall">
<node key="decoding"/>
<node key="audio">
<node key="encoder">
<value>Nero Encoder</value>
</node>
</node>
<node key="video">
<node key="mode">
<value>Quality-based</value>
</node>
<node key="quality">
<value>46</value>
</node>
<node key="format">
<value>H.264</value>
</node>
</node>
</node>
<node key="audioenc">
<node key="nero">
<node key="format">
<value>HE-AAC V2</value>
</node>
<node key="quality">
<value>12</value>
</node>
</node>
</node>
<node key="videoenc">
<node key="x264">
<node key="frameref">
<value>3</value>
</node>
<node key="b_pyramid">
<value>true</value>
</node>
<node key="p8x8dct">
<value>true</value>
</node>
<node key="me">
<value>Slow</value>
</node>
<node key="me_range">
<value>20</value>
</node>
<node key="subq">
<value>7</value>
</node>
<node key="mixed_refs">
<value>true</value>
</node>
<node key="cabac">
<value>true</value>
</node>
<node key="allpart">
<value>true</value>
</node>
<node key="brdo">
<value>true</value>
</node>
</node>
</node>
<node key="videofilter">
<node key="frame">
<node key="enabled">
<value>false</value>
</node>
</node>
</node>
</MediaCoderPrefs>

Please note that this preset is quite slow but will make a H.264 + aacPlus file with best compression while retain very good quality. I use this to backup my videos.

You can save it to a XML file and load it with File -> Load Preset File in MediaCoder.

Suggestions welcome.
