geko
Hi everyone. The topic is very basic. What software burner (CD/DVD) would be the best?I don't want Nero, because its bloated <_< . Right now I'm using CopyToDVD. I like it a lot, but it has a driver that I dislike, patin couffin :frusty: .I just want a burner for images and for creating data CD/DVD.Thanks and waiting your answers.geko. Administrator DKT27 Posted February 12, 2011 Administrator Share Posted February 12, 2011 I'm using Nero Lite by mara-. 39MB download size, 200MB after installation size. And all the needed Nero softwares. You can also opt only for the burner app if you want. But if you don't want it. Ashampoo Burning Studio is known to be a good one.Otherwise, nothing is best. Just personal preference. :)
geko
Otherwise, nothing is best. Just personal preference. :)Yeah, I know.I started with Nero some years ago, but then got frustrated with the latest versions. Like, 'why the hell does Nero have a video player in their pack? I thought it was a software burner.'Ok, I'll try Nero Lite and Ashampoo for now. Personalized install.Any other thoughts.
BKAMO
I agree about Nero trying to be too much. I've been using Ashampoo for years and love it.
HX1
Well I still using Nero Burning ROM version 8.. :P and partly because of that problem.. even then there were quite a few changes that had to be made to have it operate desirably.. BUT all I have installed is Nero .. when choosing packages and what to install.. it would be comparable to what they called a Micro version.. even less than the Lite package.. but those even started to blur the lines... Administrator DKT27 Posted February 12, 2011 Administrator Share Posted February 12, 2011 If you want just the burner. Nero Lite Micro (again, by mara-) is all that you need. :)
T0nyB
I use Nero Life by mara-, has it all for my needs, :) Nero Lite by mara- : Site: http://www.nsaneforums.com/ Sharecode: topic/46345-nero-lite-v10510500-installer-version-14/ [?]Serial: Site: http://paste2.org/ Sharecode: p/1038807 [?]
x3r0
Try InfraRecorder, if you only use it for burning for images and for creating data CD/DVD.It's a tiny program (yes, only 3,53 MiB at now), not so bloated like Nero.InfraRecorderLinks:Site: InfraRecorder SiteDownload: Download Page
bearoninternet
Burnaware. Im happy with it. -_-Nice gui, free, small (6mb), underrated imo. Make sure to compare the editions.

ck_kent
+1 for ImgBurn too. Ever since I used it especially for burning on dual layers, I've never looked backed at Nero again. It's free and light.
HX1
I actually just realized I do have a few more that will do it as well.. PowerISO.. IsoBuster, UltraISO and MagicDisc .. though I think I was in the process of removing Magic Disk for one reason or another.. and I usually only use these and SuperSpeed products for Virtual devices/images.. H4rDw4rE
My vote goes to Infra Recorder. It's ultra light and give all i need for burning discs. Also vote for ImageBurn, another great software for burning images. And at least NeroLite 10 is also great, after Mara removed lot of junks (Personaly I'm using Nero and InfraRecorder). So, anything mentioned above you use is enough for burning almost anything type of discs.Regards

pyroraptor
I personally use ImgBurn to burn images and free and lite version of Nero for all other intents and purposes.Full Nero suite is absolutely bloated.
