I know it's a bit off-topic, but if I but in comparison Panda IS, Avast Antivirus Free and Microsoft Security Essentials, which would be the best?

PS! Resource neediness (or the lack of it) is a key factor, the less of a resourse hog, the better.

EDIT: In the 2nd place would be the effectiveness of virus and malware protection.

Thanks for the quick reply. The reason I asked that, is that I will be formating my friends OLD laptop today (an Acer from 2006 with 256mb of RAM (poor guy)), and was woundering what security solution to use.

EDIT: Darn, I'm late, the offer has expired, :(.
