It's not fake. Quite possible. Check out KGB Archiver. KGB Archiver has been known to compress 10GB into 100MB. But that would take 5 days on Xeon processor and 2 days to uncompress. ;)

Yep. KGB Archiver has high compression rates.

Too bad, the project is unmaintained...

7-Zip has good compression rates if you choose the correct one...

Dear shajt

That is fake in some case.

It seems so , just thought that it was hard to achieve.

How long it took you to extract it ?

That's probably fake.

I'm with you. There is no magical archiver able to compress normal stuff so much better than others.

It's fake for sure. Shought, there is no way it can compress 10GB to 100MB, no way! It's possible they have the best compression, but there is no way to compress such big data to such small data.

Cheers ;)

That's not shought. That's me. :D

And I'm not saying without confirmation. Few years ago I had downloaded a game of 1.2GB compressed into 10.1MB. Took many hours to decompress, but I'm 100% sure about it. Not only that, implague, a member here, compresses his ISO files into such a small size regularly with KGB.

A massive file with redundant sequences of similar hex code can compress into insanely tiny files. Like for instance game images that they copy just the securom part can zip to 4MB but when you unzip it you end up with 4GB because the rest of the file is just zero filled for padding.

A file with real data can never reach that compression ratio, regardless of what tools you use.

Check out the PAQ method of compression yourself. I'll compress Hirens BootCD with KGB in couple of weeks and will show that it is possible. I do not guarantee the Windows 7 file is safe or not, but it's not impossible. I've done it myself in the past, a 1.1GB game, a graphic adventure, into 10.1MB.

Sorry DKT. Well, it's still hard to believe in that. I tried few times to compress something, but when I sow how much time it takes, I just gave up.

CHeers ;)
