Did it finish the second time or did it try to reboot and start fresh again.. Reason I ask this is because I have seen a couple of programs do this before.. Microsoft is fairly sure about having Volume Licensing on your product if you are able to get it... It may have triggered n installation from the Office installers which require a reboot and then the installation which then had its requirement fulfilled..

I personally said forget BCM in 2007 versions.. and forgo it even existed.. Not for sure on this one... but its my guess as to what was going on.. as long as it works afterwards and you let it do its things there should not be any real problem.. and it is rare but some installations will do this..

it just seem not right to me twice to reboot and even then to reboot again. i think there is some bug on with the bcm 2010 and my office.

maybe i have to uninstall and reinstall the office, delete all trace of it in the registery and than to try and install the bcm......

any experience with the bcm 2010? worth the trouble?

This may not be a bug at all.. and it may require yo to do so.. especially for database installation and creation.. and service that have to be started and run to do so..

As far as an assessment is concerned I would look here... http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/whats-new-in-business-contact-manager-for-outlook-2010-HA101861684.aspx This is one f those things where you have to decide for yourself and your needs.

01.) <Click> 'Start' >>----> <type> RegEdit >>----> <jab> 'Enter'

02.) Navigate to the following key and back it up:-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager]

03.) Delete the following sub-key on the right-hand-side:-

'PendingFileRenameOperations'

04.) Re-install your BCM, now - before rebooting.

ps:

Only making the above suggestion since you were anyways contemplating a surgical procedure on your registry - you'll be doing this at your own risk. 8)

what it suppose to do?

Probably has something to do with the rights and file locking operations of files that have to be updated.. while it schedules these for deletion or upgrade during a reboot it may not be happening.. Therefore if you delete the key temporarily you may be able to install properly... and the files will be updated ... installed..
