Dropbox has a cross-platform client (Windows, Mac, Linux and even Android) that enables users to drop any file into a Dropbox folder that is then synced to the web and the users' other computers with the Dropbox client. Files in the Dropbox folder may then be shared with other Dropbox users or accessed from the web. Users may also upload files manually through a web browser. A free Dropbox account offers 2 GB of storage. An additional 8 GB free storage space is possible from referrals (by inviting friends to join Dropbox).

Before encouraging others to use your referral links you should inform them that doing so would allow you to view their email addresses, which some might consider an infringement of privacy. The referral program is really meant for friends so I'm just saying that people viewing it on a public forum may not be aware that you guys will know their email addresses after they use your referral link.

Now I'm not saying that you guys will use their email addresses for evil reasons but I am saying you should do them the courtesy of informing them beforehand. ;)
