Problem while trying to install Alcohol 120%

Hi, guys! I've downloaded Alcohol 120% from this post, and when I try to install it, I got the following error message:

which, translated, it would be "Internal configuration error. Contact support". I haven't found any solution at Google. What could I do?

Did you try right clicking the installer to 'run as administrator?'

Do you have Comdo Internet Security/Firewall installed?

It's known to cause problems with the installation of Alcohol/Daemon Tools.

That's the problem. Comodo blocks the installer and, when installed, the communication between the Alcohol application and the SPTD driver.

To install Alcohol do this:

1. Disable Defense+ in Comodo.

2. Install Alcohol. Restart as asked.

3. After restart, make sure that Defense+ is still disabled. If it's enabled then the Alcohol installer will fail. So try again.

4. After installation of Alcohol open the Defense+ in Comodo.

5. Go to Defense+ Settings.

6. Go to Execution Control Settings Tab.

7. Click the Excusions button.

8. Click the Add button, then Browse.

9. In the left panel browse for the Alcohol folder (in my case, C:\Program Files(x86)\AlcoholSoft\Alcohol120) and then click the -> button to add it to the Selected Items.

10. Click Apply. Apply again. Ok.

11. Enable Defense+.

That should do the work. Don't forget to block the application in the Firewall before running it.

I believe it has something to do with Virtual drives (game installations often causes such probs to AlcoFu$k products)

Would recomend to exit all AntiMalware programs and disconecting Physicaly before new instalation.(obviously try to remove buggers leftovers with something like Revo)

Then near finished install it will ask to reboot- do that

which of the 3 links did you use and isntall? i used the original link with the retial version and the betamaster keygen. everything is okay. the 2nd one installed a bad known file that este pickup and killed.

but i install newsleecher 4 final from the acutally website first then made a backup folad and paste the original files into it in case. then copy and paste the special files into the oriignal folder. no license ask trail version.

It did work for me. Try disabling Comodo completely. I had the same problem before.

I have the same version of Alcohol installed and I use Comodo Firewall too.

What is the particular reason you need this installed? Curious why its needed...I had bad experiences with Alcohol in the past.. not for sure if they are to blame or not.. but I abandoned ever entertaining the idea of even using it.. Plus there are much better alternative for what it does.. without the problems..

i used betamaster too. install the beer retail and admin the keygen. i inputed my data for the name. and clicked. worked fine. using vista 64 with latest este suite.

Well, this is the solution.

1. Open COMODO Firewall

2. Then clic on "Safe mode" item after opening CF.

3. Click in safe mode item at Defense+ tab.

4. Then go to Execution control adjustement

5. Then go to exclusions at Detect shell injections (buffer overflow protection) item

In that place, after installing alcohol 120%, you must add alcohol installer, and after installing, the alcohol's folder at Program files' folder.
