any internet security has an anti-spam module. norton is very light, kaspersky has one, bitdefender etc.. and you have them all here on nsane.

I stopped using email clients many years ago. Even the best anti-spam fails to stop most spam.

The best way to put an end to it period is the make a new email account, notify only your contacts and abandon your old account.

Don't signup for any untrusted services online, give out your email to anyone untrusted or list your email address on any websites.

When signing up for unknown services, use a Temporary email forwarding service.

Gmail offers one of the best online email service (the spam protection is excellent), you can add most of your pre-existing email accounts.

Thanks.:D

Thanks man good advice, I was just assuming there was some tiny program that would block obvious spam filled with misc words and a deadly link lol.

I never get spam; and this is the e-mail I use for misc stuff though, but i'm stupid and use it for important things too haha. I can always take it off OE6, and only use that for formal things.

And go into inbox.com for the rest of the junk. >_<

Yeah my thoughts were "hmm damn i'll get a new e-mail... hm hm g-mail sounds good.. I don't want to clutter my pc trying to be convenient, but maybe there is some tiny add in people in the know might have up their sleeve"

I have comodo. And SAsypware. I don't need another suite for one component :<

There is AVSAntispam, but yeah, too big. just want it to be diverted into a spam folder or something.

Comodo Anti Spam.

Pretty sexy, i'll try it and let you know any bad points.

Basically, makes people enter a captcha sort of thing, or just a word or three characters, as complicated as you like.

Also can add authorized e-mails, and also add your subscribed stuff.

20,000K ram max idle, doesn't seem to vary if enabled or disabled.

about 15mb.

Comodo anti spam:

Con:

Maybe there is a way to have it not download every e-mail again, all the old ones.

but I can't find it.

And I can't be bothered waiting, plus adding all my subscriptions in. and maybe missing e-mails.

want a folder in outlook that just gets spam. no big ask. >_<

I will try those two thanks.

Comodo anti spam probably works, buuuut... it isn't that important

I use FireTrust MailWasher Pro 2010 - it doesn't even require Outlook Express (or any other Email Client) to be running while it goes about it's duty.

If you're looking for something very light, I'd suggest the previous version FireTrust MailWasher Pro 6.5.4

I don't think that's what his looking for, I believe he's looking for something a bit more..automated. MailWasher requires you to do most of the work, it just makes it easier.

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't want to be using my ram constantly, just because for when I open my OutlookExpress maybe once a week and check e-mails of 3 accounts, One of those accounts is getting spam from one direction.

It comes in many hotmail adds, so i cant block each addy or the domain (obviously)

Just need some oe add on that picks up obvious spam...

obvious spam being .
