nah, i just never use torrents for some reason. i get most of the new releases off newsgroups and everything else i need with emule (it's hard to find active torrents for >1mo releases etc) ;)

i do have it installed just in case i need it tho (which has been never so far) :D

Newsgroups are sweet. I use them for certain things. The one I use right now is usenet-news. net because you can buy blocks that never expire, which is good since I mainly use BT to dl and only use newsgroups for certain things. The best part about newsgroups is that you can always get full speed.

I've never tried Newsgroup... but for now I use Rapidshare.com premium + Warez-bb.org ...

newsgroups. using a stable newsleecher that works. i get max download of 720-750 on 8 dsl when i had bellsouth before coming over here. with insight cable had 10. that gave me over 100 GB download of crap in 24 hours easy. :P

oh and ZERO upload

when i used emule or bit comet before i was able to get 100 or so maybe once in a while.

But u need to pay for it ;) And that's the difference between torrentz/edk2 and usenet :P

For me uploading isn't very much problem - just look how long uT was working on my pc and how much on others - If u got 1MB up u just put uT running and vuala ;) Only "but" is that 1MB is only at night :/ But even though 2-3 hours of upload at 1MB gives me very good ratio :)

Btw here' is uT stats update post-9020-1193213463_thumb.jpg

no you get FREE newsgroup access with the internet using cable or phone companies. now the retention is a week or two only. if you want more time frame you get a premium server for like $15 a month.

In my country even one ISP isn't offering stuff like that ;) Btw - in torrent/edk2 u don't have any trials :)

I never tried Newsgroup or eDonkey but for now I'm fine with Rapidshare Premium shared with a friend (when can download files at the same time ;) :) ) because I use Linux and don't need any programs or cracks just some series, movies and music.

:) I've never bothered with newsgroups as i'm lucky enough to be a member of a few private trackers who are very good for 0day releases and have very tight uploading rules e.g you have to have a 100mb d/l and 100 u/l speeds before you can upload which is great if you have a 13meg d/l speed. :)

20071113043008eq9.png

I've always found torrents for what I was looking for (new or old) so I never had any experiences with any other protocol. I'm planning to look into DC++ since most people here (my country) use that.

Just yesterday I got 840 kb/s download speed, which is my max, and as far as I know eMule and similar cant compare to that (and I hate eMule name)

My stats in uTorrent are only counted for last three months, I usually have it runing all the time, uploading in the background, with the speed limit to or 75 kb/s (out of 110). It never interfers with my browsing.

@dllhost:

Sorry but WTF is keeping the upload speed at 1kb/s good for? - Just to keep good stats?

There is a bit more to it than stats and thats giving back, Im sure you heard of it? Would you be happy to download from someone at 0,2 kb/s? Thats what you give to others at best, that is if you have one torrent seeding with four connections. But I guess you dont, so your speed is near to 0b/s.

You might as well call yourself a leecher, because you are not doing any seeding for sure. What would happen if everyone did what you do? Whole p2p would go to hell. Yeah, you do have to sacrifice your connection a bit, but hey - you get stuff for free, isnt that good enough for you.

And all this just to make you look good, this is even worse than hit & run. At least they upload with normal speed until the download is finished.
