:) I meant to get feedback - wanted to find out how this beta release is better than the previous one that I'm using. Maybe silly question - best way to find out is to install (just downloading IDM - shall report back, later.) ;)

@dcs18 and henz: IDM 6.03 Beta works for me with Google Chrome, Chromium, and Apple Safari. The old version of IDM (v5.19) basically did not work for me with Google Chrome or Apple Safari (I did not try Chromium earlier).

According to IDM's website, this is what they say about IDM 6.03 Beta:

Beta Version really rockxx... Now IDM works well with Google Chrome and Mozilla 4 as well. :dance2:

Thanks for the response - I actually went ahead and installed it yesterday itself; to try out the beta for myself. It seems they've merely upgraded the driver that integrates with various browsers - not sure whether this should've warranted a change in version from V5 to V6 (everything else, including the GUI, the performance and even configuration paths remain static.) :think:

Yes, aside from far better browser integration, there doesn't seem to be any significant difference between IDM 5.19 and 6.03 Beta. I was hoping IDM 6 would have Windows 7 taskbar integration with a progress display right within the taskbar icon (just as TeraCopy does). Oh well.

Also, there's no Aero interface (on the top bar) on the Downloading window. :(

When installing from a big size installer in native .exe (de-compressed) state downloaded by 6.03 Build 4 Beta, the installation either does not start off or if it starts one gets an error and cannot proceed further.

In short, the above mentioned installer is corrupt (suspect it's something with the final process of building file the fragments that is going wrong.) :think:

I used 5 samples of the latest version Acronis Disk Director Home from the following Acronis homepage:-

:think: use IDM so far, just got one corrupt download, it cause by power failure though

i even download 2Gb files and it's fine :dance2:(almost hang while building files)

and i never use advance browser integration, prevent compatibility problem..

Just tried the same download - only difference is the source this time was ADD11H_trial_en-US.rar instead of ADD11H_trial_en-US.exe (needless to say, this time the installer was not corrupt.) :mellow:
