Guest Saga
The key for Outpost Firewall Pro 7.0.4 has expired. I saw in the forum that there are new keys for the Security Suite, and I am wondering if there are new ones for the Firewall Pro.Thanks in advance! gonzalo76
I think Agnitum is checking online if the licenses are valid or not now.A message appeared today saying that my license was no longer valid and Outpost Firewall Pro was no longer protecting my PC.I restarted the Firewall to enter the license again, but this time another window appeared saying "Please wait..." like if Agnitum was checking online if my license was valid or not. Now, the message said: "The information that you have entered is either incomplete or invalid. Please re-enter your details."I guess we have to change to another firewall... :(
sanjoa
I'm going to test Comodo, if it is as good as Outpost.

Marik
still nothing.the internet is quiet about a serial for now :-/maybe tomorrow or the day after that
gonzalo76
Like I said, Agnitum is checking online if the serials are legal or not.You can change all the serials you want, but none of them will work because the program connects to Agnitum database for serial checking. At least, that's what I understand so far.
Marik
it does check online, but this all started when users updated their db's...for the security suite, I read on some other boards, that it stopped working right after the spyware (or whatever protection outpost has) db update
Poopdeck Pappy
Well I've dumped Outpost, which I liked a lot and installed Comodo, so far I'm pretty impressed for a free product, only one thing I miss so far is the timed "Auto Learn Mode" Outpost has, I used it for new games and such, set it for one hour and then it automatically goes back to full protection. It was good for all the Steam, L4D, TF2 and such updates, switch to auto learn 1 hour and your not bothered with all the allowing this and that clicks. Nice for when my dummy friend comes over and plays on my other PC, playing L4D. With Comodo, it has an auto learn mode (Game Mode) but its an on or off thing, so after playing for a bit, will then have to get to desktop and switch game mode off again or it will allow anything. Meh... Other than that, so far its a pretty impressive firewall, not really gonna miss Outposts malware crap, got Nod32 for that.I think that's why they (Agnitum) were pushing the update to 7.0.4 because they were rolling out an online key check. Bet there spyware updates will drop like a rock after this...

Poopdeck Pappy
@Poopdeck,There is an "Auto Learn Mode" equivalent in COMODO...in Defense+ Settings - > General Settingschange this to Training ModeEYes, there is also a "Game Mode" which acts the same, right click on the Comodo task bar icon, its there. Click on, click off, a bit faster. (2 clicks vs about 5) :D Just liked Outpost's timed training option. Also, the footprint this program leaves is tiny compared to Outpost, but it is firewall only, cmdagent.exe which is the only process I can find, uses just over 2MB. A feature I require is application control, its here of course, just had to find it, its under Network Security Policy. So again, very impressed so far, really don't think I'll miss the spyware/malware stuff from Outpost, just seem to like the feel of Outpost a little better than Comodo, maybe it was the GUI layout or just familiar with it?
