http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerbil ...I knew adding the Wikipedia to my search engines was a good idea.. LOL.. There was this advertisement for KGB I think.. the service where you can text a question from your phone or something.. and get research or results.. there was this one where these two guys were wondering about milking gerbils.. they wind up exchanging the creamer for the gerbil milk and there dad drinks it... was one of the things that came to mind...

I see. :)

Well, as per scripts, it is said that if a cow has a calf, it should be fed and it's stomach be filled first, only then the milk can be taken. It's said that the cow will also give more milk (happily) if it's done so. It's a sin if you don't allow the calf to drink the milk and remove/take it. We in India, most of us are lacto-vegetarians. Cow milk is slight cheaper so lower middle class may prefer it. Otherwise buffalo milk is used the most. But, I believe that icecream making guys would be using cow milk, not sure.

No worries about the lack of cow milk, my mom made Kulfi for us to try about a month ago from regular store bought Nestle full cream milk. She said it tasted good, I didn't try cuz I'm lactose intolerant but basically you can make the recipe using regular full cream milk. Not 2% or low fat cuz those are no way creamy enough.

Rum Raisin has been my favorite since I was a young teenager. I was working an ice cream stand at the U.S. Open tennis games in 1979, and it was one of four flavors of ice cream we sold, strangely... (Chocolate, Vanilla bean, Strawberry, and Rum Raisin). Ever since then, it's been my flavor of choice. :)
