dumble
He,Today i thought to organize my downloads a little bit. Everything is spread around my computer and it sometimes drives me mad. I download using rapidshare, emule, torrentz, newsgroups and of-course the web-browser.. So now i created one dir, called DOWNLOADS. Divided into 5 other dirs : Chrome & IE,; Mipony (rapidshare, megaupload etc.);, emule;, utorrent and newsgroups. My question. I started using Internet Download Manager today. IDM organizes your web-browser downloads into: Compressed, Documents, General, Music, Programs, Video. This seems to work fine on most websites. But when i download files from google docs, it doesnt recognize the link and starts downloading the file with the web-browser instead of IDM.. Anyone know if i can fix this, i use google docs allot. I use:- Windows 7 Ultimate- Google Chrome 7.0.517.8 Beta- Internet Download Manager 6.02 Build 2 Beta
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 21, 2010 Administrator Share Posted September 21, 2010 What is the extension of that documents? You'll need to add that extension into IDM's options > File Types tab.
Night Owl
Since your Web browser (not IDM) is downloading the Google Docs files, just tell Google Chrome where you want your downloads to go:click on the wrench icon near the very top right of Google Chromeclick on Optionsclick on the "Under the Hood" tabscroll down to the Downloads section and tell it the download location for all your Google Chrome downloadsmake sure that "Ask where to save each file before downloading" is not checked
dumble
extensions are pdf, doc, rar files.. this files are by default implanted in IDM. IDM puts rar files in compressed, doc & pdf en documents (just like it puts .exe files in the programs dir. But the problem is that it does not reconise it when i click the download link in google docs. I think it has something to do with google docs download server.. @night owl.. thats not the solution i am looking for. I want it to be easy & simple, not search for the location every time i download something + i want to use the advantages IDM gives you when you download files. Night Owl
@night owl.. thats not the solution i am looking for. I want it to be easy & simple, not search for the location every time i download something + i want to use the advantages IDM gives you when you download files. You just set it once and forget it. Google Chrome will then download everything in the folder you specified. For me, what IDM doesn't download, Google Chrome will download to my Downloads folder automatically.IDM can't download everything. For example, KeyGen and Serial files available at nsane.down. So you are going to have to tell Google Chrome one way or another where it is going to download files for you. You might as well have it download into one location automatically.
