elohelomg
It seems the "add printer" list is gone. There are no printers that i can add from the list. Does anyone know where i can download a "fix"? Using the tiny windows 7, it seems these files are missing.HELLLPPP!!!
HX1
Have you disabled or optimized anything recently.. and There is no Add Device in your control panel using Small Icon View?.. If nothing has been changed Service wise.. you should ONLY have to plug in the printer to the computer... and then turn it on.. If its on a network then you have other options you can use.. but it should still easily be added..EDIT: Just noticed its Tiny 7.. I don't really support it and do not use it so I am unsure of what full steps you would need to take.. or what you would need to change to get it to work.. HX1
SSDP .. UPnP.. Print Spooler Service... there are going to be several elements.. ( not for sure without diggin into mine what all is going to be involved.. I would look in Services and see if you have a 'Print Spooler'.. and if so start it then connect your printer and see.. if it installs..or you have it available.. ( sometimes they rip out all kinds of stuff.. in Tiny versions )The drivers for it won't help if you don't have the services available..AND if ou can get it to connect and show up then the system should install them automatically.. and even connect to go online to get them for you.. Win 7 should automatically detect it, and connect to it. But it doesn't.
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 14, 2010 Administrator Share Posted September 14, 2010 The printer you are trying to connect to, should have a CD that contains its drivers. Otherwise, I haven't tested the tiny versions, but I don't think they wouldn't contain drivers (in the drivers library) to run a printer.

The operating system was designed to automatically read the device..Both ssdp and upnp are started up and running. still no go.
HX1
Okay IF.. in fact when you connect you get a notification that you are connecting a device.. then your system sees it.. Next if you do not have the Print Spooler service running.. all printing and services related to most printers will be dead.. Spooler sort of acts like the Printer communication.. so I think it should.. but it is necessary.. some people turn it off all together but they don't print.. ( Probably why your Printers area is all dead ).. or in relation to.. Now apart from that...There are about four or five other services and elements which have to be active and Object Discovery has to be able to connect .. online to identify the printer and get the drivers.. so take it from the start and check that service.. then go step by step until.. the system has it.. If its a new printer it will come with a CD which will install them.. if not you have to go online and find them.. and install.. but without going through it from front to back the drivers may not help.. and given proper connectivity and services.. You won't have to..
