Thanks! I resigned from any AV in a background - eating resources all the time and signatures are so... prehistoric. Cloud scanning is the future. ;) Only good firewall with hips and I not seen any viruses since 2 years. (Also M$ updates.) :secret: btw. any news about universal patch to next builds?

I have NEVER been able to make this work on my computer properly as far as registering it and I'm no noob when it comes to this kind of thing either. My friend seems to be using it just fine but for some reason or another, it just wont work with me and I have tried again and again. Kind of fed up with it not ever wanting to register properly.

FYI, I'm using Windows 7 32 bit.

This is the error I get EVERY time and as far as I know...I'm not doing ANYTHING wrong. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Uninstall your current version completely.. Then download and install the current.. If its not even 115 or something don't worry it will then do it.. If it i patched it will not upgrade anyway.. something in its ability to call out has been killed.. cause if/when it does.. your patch is dead.. and your machine will never be able to validate any license.. AND the patch has to be remade each version to work correctly.. so.. You have to deal with limited functionality.. which is really perfect for a second-opinion scanner.. should fix easy though.. and the problem your having is just probably going to be that way..

My current version and patch came both from nsanedown so there should have been NO conflict. Also, can you speak a bit more clearly so I can understand exactly what your trying to tell me. Thanks.

Am I correct in thinking that we all only have a small window of opportunity to download this BEFORE it upgrades? Cause from what I have seen, the download on the page is ALWAYS one version AHEAD of the patch. Is it ever NOT a version ahead of the patch and if so, can we be notified of the exact time of this so I can get it done quickly?Other people are all giving thanks for this download (I suppose for a 30 day trial is great) but Im just pulling my hair out. I gave up in the past on trying to figure this out but you know what, I'm going to get the answers I need before I give up again! This shouldn't be this complicated.

THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE AS FAR AS I HAVE SEEN.

Why is there no link to the old version that matches with the patch? How hard would it be to do this? Seriously...

This isn't that complicated.. I promise... Clear your head and refocus..

Hitman issues version 1.0... To patch.. you must replace EXE file.. within the original EXE file exists code in which it uses to 'call home' or connect back to the main site.. It does this whenever it starts up and when it looks for updates.. ALWAYS verifying itself.. Hitman uses a hardware id for blacklisting machines which have used invalid licenses.. so this 'call home' must be stopped.. or else your machine.. and everyone that uses it will lose the license.. and all future ability to have full version.. So covering the reason that a patched version will not be able to update from the site.. AND why after Hitman releases a new version.. a new patch must be made that uses a license and kills the 'call home'..

So YES..you do usually have a small window in which to use each version... and each version must use its path ONLY... The link is probably there because it will updated eventually when everyone gets the time to do so... This has been the normal means since its birth.. The patcher will not patch a newer version as it will not be the current version and could be open to issues.. so when it looks for the file to patch it must match.. or the execution will not proceed..

The person who wrote the patch would be better able to explain I think..

Now how to proceed when no patch exists.. is to follow the instructions above and use it with your trial license expired... You can update ( providing the original EXE is there )... and even move up in versions... Scan your system..Upload to the cloud... and adjust the settings... you simply will have to manually remove the detected problems/issues yourself instead of allowing the program to rip them out for you.. Its the only difference between full and trial.. EXPIRED trial even.. Which is still GREAT for a second opinion scanner.. This is not meant for full-time security and protection but a lite quick cloud based scanner only..

EDIT: One more thing.. it is better to stay current with most recent version and its definitions .. that to stay with an older version which may not detect new problems which have developed since the last version.. Like the new Email infection virus thing... Or the Link vulnerability..

This still does not resolve the issue since the issue is that the download it's self (not the patch) is ALWAYS one step ahead with no way to correctly install it..unless the instructions specifically say how to do it, I still don't get it. I have absolutely no problem using any other patch or keygen at all, this is the only program that I have had troubles with.

I understand the whole issue with it connecting into the database and phoning home but how can I NOT do this and still register as a trial? Do I stay unconnected from the internet during this? what EXACTLY must I do? The readme is very vague and offers no detail at all. As I said, I'm no noob to this kind of stuff and it really irritates me that this should be very simple but continues to be NOT simple.

If possible, can ANYONE rewrite the Readme file with precise directions?

These are the directions as of now:

1. Install Hitman Pro 3.5.6 Build 113 (activate as trial).

2. If you install it before and expired then it is ok

3. Patch the file HitmanPro35.exe

4. Run the application

5. Enjoy! ;)

First of all, can the trial be activated WITHOUT an active internet connection and if not, HOW can you also stop it from checking to see if it's valid???

Secondly, step number 2 is written sort of weirdly...it isn't that easy to understand what he means. Should it read: "If you installed it before and it's expired then it is ok"

Thirdly, I ATTEMPTED to patch the file right after I registered it as a trial which it gave me the error above.

If someone else on the internet messes up with the patching process then this makes it messed up for EVERYONE? How is there a limited time frame and why? It is simple for me or at least how patching usually works. Get the program, get the correct patch version, and it works. I have NEVER seen the two match up EVER for this program, it has always been posted on nsanedown with one patch behind and in my mind...that just isn't right but maybe I'm really wrong! Is this download and patch DESIGNED to actually work or what? Is there like a matter of hours that I have to snag this to make it work? If it can be updated AFTERWORDS then why isn't there a link to the 1.13 version???

What needs done EXACTLY? A step by step tut with clear understandable English would be great.

I did all this. The original EXE?? Isn't that the DOWNLOAD that I got and installed or must I get that some place else? Scan my system? You mean the program will scan my system for viruses and malware or I should scan for the right directory? Upload to the cloud...OK this sounds like the program doing it's thing I imagine but everything is very vague. Adjust the settings...........HOW? I imagine this is the program doing these things but you're not being specific. NOTHING is specific...sorry but I am really irritated now.

Ambrocious.. I think that your irritation is probably driving this way off base.. I am going t list some things starting at the first of your post.. and work through them.. since I started this I will finish it and where we wind up will be where we wind up.. I have explained this clearly ..twice. It isn't hard.. and for you to keep trying redundantly and going on like this isn't going to help you.. If you follow everything to the letter and have ever used the program.. its quite clear...

1. Patch for version 113 was available the same day or the day after Hitman updated.. the last two day Hitman has updated twice.. So this patch is not long been obsolete.. and Yes as often as Hitman updates sometimes there is only a matter of hours in between.. I have also seen the patches come quick and slow.. but being ungrateful and getting angry about it.. isn't considerate in anyway.. and may even delay them further..

If you look at the instructions it is last. What is being stated in the readme file.. is that some users who have installed Hitman Pro, have used it past their trial period.. so they no longer have a full version.. Some have not .. so their version is still FULL.. what is being covered by 1 & 2..

Now when you installed 115.. THEN registered the trial.. ( and most people with registered trials will not even need the patch for the trial period.. this isn't a crackable software that gets nailed once and stays that way.. ) .. did you try to patch it with the 113? The issues you get as a result will NEVER BE resolved.. I would wait until your trial has expired.. ad then patch with something for whatever version it is..

3. Hitman Pro Patch 1.0 was used as an example for explanation.. Usually a Patch replaces the original EXE with another EXE.. and/or changes registry entries..and the Readme.. is just fine.. All details are covered..

4. Anything else is irrelevant to the subject.. and is getting in your way..

5. ORIGINAL = Look it up at Wikipedia... and had you used to the program for two second you would have seen every aspect of what I just stated within the UI. There are only a few accountable factors here.. and you are void of all of them making me wonder if your 'WELL EXPERIENCED' self has actually even been able to open the program and look into any aspect.

Lastly I know exactly how your going to respond to this.. ' Well I am just asking because...' Fact of the matter is I find the tone and the manner in which you responded as well as your lack of attention to the details which would have saved you from the HORRID experience for someone to provide you with a tool to aid you in your PC Security a complete insult to any and all efforts to assist you in any way... This isn't a daycare.. or a college course... You make a mockery of what people do here.. and the time they devote to it with items of this nature.

You don't get away with it because its only in type.. and your miles away at the end of a wire... You want ot attack me go ahead but beware of your actions does not cost your access to this domain site or forum... Should you even care for it...

My instructions.. ( just for you and your particular problem.. )

1. Uninstall current version.. completely from system..

2. Delete all folders and files relative to Hitman Pro.

3. Download and install current version of Hitman Pro from Surfright.

4. Use the program as an expired trial until it updates or patch is refreshed.

5. Open the program and become familiar with its settings and how it can be used..

6. Adjust the Settings to your use..

7. Scan your system for problems..

8. Manually remove your infections and files after verifying that they are indeed a treat and not a False Positive...

9. Close Program and use whenever needed in the same way....

10. Any difficulty with these steps I would recommend you find another piece of software that suits you..

No problems of cyclically menacing issues and the two of you can go in different directions for all time.. No true loss either way..

I was never attempting to insult the patch maker of this software nor disgrace it in any way. Maybe I should have specified that although I am no noob to patches and cracks and keygens, this program is the most tricky one...and plus because I had never gotten it to go to "full" i the past I really didn't look into it in the past because it appeared to be corrupt. The comments of praise was what struck me...apparently others had been successful at getting it done and now I realize that this is sort of like a hit and miss being since the window of opportunity is limited.

Basically I'm just saying that it's unlike most other programs that have keygens and cracks because it's sort of a hit and miss at times. I'm not disrespecting any programmer here and I'm sorry for making it seem that way. I personally haven't learned to make keygens or patches so I can't imagine the amount of work put into this sort of thing so I apologize for putting the pressure on you and anyone else who felt violated. I was personally irritated because I am not the kind of guy who gives up but now I understand that I have to wait...of course I understood that already but I figured that an alternative version download could exist that matches the patch just until an updated patch is available.

My seemingly "intrusive" questions were not meant to be ridicule, I was just needing to know more because I didn't quite understand exactly all the details.

I'm a bit behind really and I see that things are moving forward quickly software wise so I imagine that there will be ways to improve this method and I look forward to any and all efforts and contributions made.

One other thing...I DO care for nsanedown quite a bit. I appreciate the dedication to maintain the upkeep of the site and all the hard working people who contribute new and updated software. I have been visiting nsanedown since back when it was nsaneproductions so I do really like this site a lot, it is for sure one of my favorites.
