Installation procedure

The installation procedure is straightforward. Please, run the downloaded executable file and follow instructions.

List of issues fixed since the previous build (5105)

Acronis True Image Home 2011 trial expires right after installation, if trial of Acronis True Image Home 2010 was previously installed on this computer and expired.

The progress bar works incorrectly (shows incorrect numbers) when validating a backup.

The Nonstop Backup icon does not disappear from the tray when Nonstop Backup is stopped.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 does not overwrite backups in case of the Single version backup scheme if archives are splitted.

The backup tasks scheduled with Acronis True Image Home 2009 do not run after upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2011.

If the Acronis Secure Zone was located on the system drive, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager becomes deactivated after deleting the zone, and the user needs to reactivate it manually.

After Acronis True Image Home 2011 activation Acronis Startup Recovery Manager stays in the trial mode.

If a user tries to back up all backup categories at once, the backup fails with error "There is nothing to back up". If the categories are backed up separately, the error doesn't appear.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 does not add backups from USB drives automatically, even during the first launch. User needs to add them manually.

An extra backup may be stored with the "Don't delete the first version of the backup" option enabled in the backup scheme.

Backup to the Acronis Secure Zone fails if a user selects it as a destination from the Custom destination list. Everything works correctly if the Acronis Secure Zone is selected as Secure Zone.

A redundant error "The given URI is empty" appears when a user recreates backup settings for backups that are added manually. The error doesn't influence the functionality and backup settings are created successfully.

In Online Backup a scheduled daily task for every X hours doesn't start immediately but only at 12 (AM or PM), except cases when any other task has run before.

Acronis Rescue Media does not work with external USB CD/DVD-ROM drives.

List of known issues

The "Ver." column in the search results is empty if you search in file contents using the search field in Acronis True Image Home 2011 console.

It is possible to install Acronis Backup and Security 2010 over Acronis True Image Home 2011.

To recover a deleted account with e-mail messages in the Live Mail, it is necessary to perform two recovery operations.

Pre/post commands are not saved if entered without using the Edit button.

After system recovery the system backup status is lost and changed to "not backed up yet". The user needs to browse for the backup to fix the issue.

In Online Backup the "Missed tasks: Run at system startup" option is lost during migration from 2010 to 2011 version. User needs to re-select it manually after completing upgrade.

When using Acronis Rescue Media a confusing message "Enter the full path to the file" appears when a user tries to back up to a network share. If the user waits for some time, an authorization window appears.

If individual backup versions are deleted through Time Explorer, Acronis True Image Home 2011 does not remove them from HDD and the user has to remove them manually.

The backup name is missing in search results for Nonstop Backup, so if a user sees search results without a backup name, he or she should know that these files are from Nonstop Backup archives.

Acronis Startup Recovery Manager becomes deactivated after full disk recovery with resize, and needs to be reactivated manually.

When using Online Backup, if a user backs up files from two different partitions, Time Explorer doesn't switch after backup to the latest created slice automatically.

In Online Backup the ob_client_standard.exe process exits with a delay of 10-60 seconds after application exit.

In Online Backup the "Once a day only" checkbox does not work.

In Online Backup the storage browser is updated very slowly after completion of a large backup.

When trying to restore a native Windows backup in Windows, an error message "Cannot open backup archive on the specified device" appears after restart. There are no issues or errors when restoring the same backup using Acronis Rescue Media.

The backup scheme for a disk backup cannot be changed "on the fly". For example, if a user wants to change the backup scheme from "version chain" to "incremental", he or she will have to recreate the backup.

Every Plus Pack has its own serial.. integrates seamlessly.. into the current installation.. adds new feature..

Yes - it will install itself into the main program. You will be asked to provide a serial for the Plus Pack when installing it.

I read this even in version 13.. but I have yet to check it out as you wind up converting 20 GB of data.. LOL.. SO I wanted to know if what is supposed to be done is a 'Convert to Windows Backup in Acronis.. then what.. or does it automatically become a VHD at that point?

Can this program "wipe" all data off a hard drive so it will un-traceable!? tia! -peace ;)

Try DBAN Nuke Boot Disc.. should be quick too.. also have used Hiren's and Spotmau as well.. successfully.. yet FBI forensics can recovery data anyway.. so the only way is to literally radioactively nuke your HD.. Or a portable blacksmith forge.. LOL.. 1 explosive radioactive HD Nuke coming up... LOL.. doubtful though that most methods of typical forensics can recover data.. without some specialized tools...
