d3v
Hey all.My newly purchased WD caviar black 3.5" 640GB harddrive died last week. I placed it inside a 3.5" metal harddrive enclosure and used a 19 volt power lead instead of the 12 volt one, which fried the PCB on my harddrive. Thankfully eBuyer replaced it promply (thumbs up to these guys!).My question now is is the harddrive enclosure still good to use or will that be fried, too? I am too scared to find out the hard way! Anyone know?

Anyone know?Hi, Your hdd enclosure will work fine, remember that you fried the "weakest" component of your hdd wich works w/ only 5 volt.TuFaS
