majithia23
hello friends , hw u all doin ....its a been a long since time i checked onto Nsane forums ...n more over post a topic ... :) i was catching over with all the stuff i had missed due to busy schedule in the past few months ,when i came across these 2 applications ..--Immunet--Threatfire .Immunet reportedly being a cloud scanner and Threatfire a behavior annalytical program based upon Zero malware day funda and stuff ...they reportedly advertise them selves as being able to run along side ur pre installed security suite and more over , rather strengthening it ...so they really do so ?i mean i dont know much about cloud computing other than what it actually is ...so is there any use of running these along side other anti malware ?where do they fit into a layered security approach ?what do u guys say about these .... ur reviews ? LeetPirate
I used to use Threatfire, it never detected anything but false positives and annoyed me so I got rid of it. Just my short review. I don't know if it actually does what it claims or how effective it is, I have never seen any professional benchmarks for either of those softwares. someone
Regarding Behaviour analysis, I think you're best served with Mamutu than threatfire. Behaviour analysis/HIPS softwares not need much updates because the nature of the protection, but the last threatfire update is in 2009 if i'm not wrong. Looks like a new beta will come, but not sure until it will be maintaned since symantec bought pctools. Mamutu for other side is constantly updated with new "behaviours" and bug fixes. Seems in constant development. Now that EMSISOFT acquired Online Armor, it can become better.Last week a promotion at "calendar of updates" site give a 1 year mamutu/ emsisoft antimalware license if you create a account... but the promotion already ended.... but you know, here at nsane there is very talented guys that can "help" you getting it.Immunet looks promising... they have in-house engines and partner with Clam-av. Is the begin of a project... they not have a good user base as malwarebytes/superantispyware. The best you can do is give a spin and draw your own conclusions. The 2 run easy with most of the know antimalware solution. I only not recommend Threatfire togheter withHIPS, since it can be a overlap and can cause malfuctions.

Is a special setup that not permit updates. The version is 2.56 if i'm not wrong.
