Could netframe work be to blame, or lack there of?

Would these be vital?

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows XP x86 (KB982670)

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86

Or just:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 ( I have sp3 should it be offering this update? )

EDIT:

when going through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218

I didn't find much, in registry, regclean got most of it. But when searching 0FF1CE I found a whole lot in local machine- software - microsoft - windows - current version - app management - ARPCache shoulds I delete these too?

EDIT: Also in local machine - software - microsoft - office there is also 11.0, 9.0, common, excel, outlook, powerpoint, word.

Should anything be done about these?

Also my 'current' security settings don't allow download of MICROSOFT fix it, even though all security is off. ... ah la sigh

if u had previously installed office, uninstall it

then use registry cleaner

CCleaner can do it for you

then copy all files inside your installation disk to your hdd

then try to install it again

Updated to 4.5 installer, shuffled through regedit twice through manual removal steps, put cd in other disc drive, buffed disc on jumper :D, researched ancient long forgotten gods of cd-rom to pray (not really), drank apple and guava for good luck (maybe), shivered because it is cold where I am (it is), ccleaned, poked about the net webs for info, disabled firewall, internet, antivirus.

Last resort... install 2003 office, install 2007 on top?

This isn't my comp I don't even use office, my dad needs two programs tomorrow, that's it. :fear: Hence to reinstall, to remove JUNK.

:frusty:

Edit: And tried adding disc to HDD then install. Can someone send me their EnterWW.CAB maybe ?

Last resort... install 2003 office, install 2007 on top?

It can be done - but . . . . . . . . . . . . just don't do it. :nono:

Use the following guide to un-install your existing installation before attempting a re-install:-

I'm just going to install 2003

edit: wow 2003 is tiny in comparison. unfortunate it makes files incompatible, ie received files from word 2007. I think.

Ok 2003 has similar error with a excel.dll.

Back to 2007, first a 1304 error, then a 2350 upon retry then finally 1334.

still no luck, it looked closer this time, after I found some stuff in prefetch.

The add remove uninstall was actually quite clean .. . but then I had this error. So thourouly cleaned, tried to reinstall again. failed.

SO I looked back over regedit, found nothing. Apart from the 12.0 folder came back, though empty. The failed install attempt rolls back changes.

Now i'm using a different reg cleaner. I tried just installing word and outlook, no luck.

So am wondering what these enterprise office entries in regedit are under ARPcache. and whether I can get rid of them.

It's most obvious your 'add and remove programs' botched your de-installation

It wont help - believe me, I've gone through this hell (you'll have to use the guide to completely un-install your copy of Office.)

Don't . . . . . . . . . :nono:

Did a reg clean, and arp cache for 0ff1ce left.

still install fail.

Booo about to go to bed.

Last question. What services would be critial to this install?. apart from installer.

I've never reformatted before, i'd be too nervous on someone elses pc. anyway to just run setup over the top and have it fill the gaps?

Or run sp3 again . :< it would be nice to start with a fresh os drive. but... no time to mess about
