anemones2
Need help does this just mean uninstall left some residue. or i have services turned off for something necisary to install...EDIT: Install disc i'm sure is fine.So I don't know and jv16 power tools didn't find any left overs. :unsure:Could netframe work be to blame, or lack there of?Would these be vital?Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows XP x86 (KB982670)Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86Or just:Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 ( I have sp3 should it be offering this update? )EDIT:when going through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218I didn't find much, in registry, regclean got most of it. But when searching 0FF1CE I found a whole lot in local machine- software - microsoft - windows - current version - app management - ARPCache shoulds I delete these too?EDIT: Also in local machine - software - microsoft - office there is also 11.0, 9.0, common, excel, outlook, powerpoint, word.Should anything be done about these? Also my 'current' security settings don't allow download of MICROSOFT fix it, even though all security is off. ... ah la sigh
Night Owl
According to this Microsoft site, you need an up-to-date Windows Installer.

anemones2
Updated to 4.5 installer, shuffled through regedit twice through manual removal steps, put cd in other disc drive, buffed disc on jumper :D, researched ancient long forgotten gods of cd-rom to pray (not really), drank apple and guava for good luck (maybe), shivered because it is cold where I am (it is), ccleaned, poked about the net webs for info, disabled firewall, internet, antivirus.Last resort... install 2003 office, install 2007 on top? This isn't my comp I don't even use office, my dad needs two programs tomorrow, that's it. :fear: Hence to reinstall, to remove JUNK. :frusty: Edit: And tried adding disc to HDD then install. Can someone send me their EnterWW.CAB maybe ?

anemones2
The add remove uninstall was actually quite clean .. . but then I had this error. So thourouly cleaned, tried to reinstall again. failed.SO I looked back over regedit, found nothing. Apart from the 12.0 folder came back, though empty. The failed install attempt rolls back changes. Now i'm using a different reg cleaner. I tried just installing word and outlook, no luck.So am wondering what these enterprise office entries in regedit are under ARPcache. and whether I can get rid of them. I tried just installing word and outlook, no luck.It wont help - believe me, I've gone through this hell (you'll have to use the guide to completely un-install your copy of Office.) So am wondering what these enterprise office entries in regedit are under ARPcache. and whether I can get rid of them.Don't . . . . . . . . . :nono:Did a reg clean, and arp cache for 0ff1ce left.still install fail.Booo about to go to bed.
