Mikeypr
I tried to navigate to NSANE this morning but after a couple off seconds of being on the homepage, the page clears and I get a 403 you are not autorised to view this page error. If I try using FIREFOX, I have no such problem. (This was the only way I could post this)Any Ideas?ThanksMike

bizzyb0t
Hey nsane, according to your logs, whats the breakdown of browsers? Why anyone would still be using IE6 for day-to-day browsing, is beyond me. ;) But I bet it's a majority of people. Lee
oddly, more than 7.0...http://www.imgboot.com/images/nsane/msiecount.png7.0 hasn't had chance to mature yet, nobody I know realises it's available yet. I'm betting it's only until Vista is more popular and has IE7 installed.
freud
Help... I can't update IE6 to 7... I have tried to use your fix but...This is a brief description of my problem: I can have access to nsane home page only if I connect twice to that page: I must "press" the "come back" button on my browser, otherwise I'm not able to connect (The same to be able to access the forum)
dMog
then quickly download firefox and use that as your primary web browser...let ie6 collect dust and never use it again
freud
Just done it... I'm using firefox... Faster than IE6... wow!!!!
nsane
i think i found the cause for this, i think it's the pnghack we use for IE6 PNG anti-aliasing support. it seems to cause IE6 to request the transparent GIF like 5 times every time the page is loaded (instead of using the cache) and triggers the attack protection. but i'll look into fixing the hack, or excluding that file from the module, and post back here if i come up with anything -_-
freud
Thank's nsane... anyway I have decided to use firefox... I could not give up and lose this wonderful web site (that I have suggested to a lot of italian friends!!)

eBait
There is something called like "uninstall.exe" -_-
freud
I am talking 'bout the registry fix: it has not an uninstaller!
nsane
it'd actually be best to leave it installed, as it makes IE6 more HTTP compliant. basically IE6 opens more connections by default than what's recommended by the compliancy standard (which is 4) -_-
freud
Ok... I've asked only because tonight my adsl is real slow... I've just been informed that my provider is "workin'" to solve this problem...Thank's!
