Night Owl Posted July 19, 2010 Share Posted July 19, 2010 HP's FTP site seems to be down. I just got an empty page when I used my Web browser. When I pinged the site, I got this:ping ftp.hp.comPinging ftp.hpgtm.nsatc.net [15.216.110.139] with 32 bytes of data:Request timed out.Request timed out.Request timed out.Request timed out.Ping statistics for 15.216.110.139: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss), Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Night Owl Posted July 19, 2010 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Yeah, pinging never returns anything. I guess they're protecting themselves from Denial of Service attacks. However, if I FTP to the site, I see what Atasas sees:drwxrwxr-x 17 32227 4436 1024 May 5 19:35 .drwxrwxr-x 17 32227 4436 1024 May 5 19:35 ..drwxr-xr-x 2 0 3 96 Jun 8 2007 bindrwxrwxr-x 2 32226 4436 1024 Jul 3 2007 controldrwxr-xr-x 2 0 3 96 Jun 28 2007 distdr-xr-xr-x 4 0 3 1024 Sep 23 2003 etcdrwxrwxr-x 3 32227 4436 96 Nov 17 2009 ftp0drwxr-xr-x 5 32227 4436 96 Jun 28 2007 ftp1drwxr-xr-x 4 32227 4436 96 Jun 28 2007 ftp2drwxr-xr-x 4 32227 4436 96 Mar 13 2008 ftp3drwxr-xr-x 4 32227 4436 96 Apr 4 2009 ftp4drwxr-xr-x 4 32227 4436 96 Sep 8 2009 ftp5drwxr-xr-x 4 32227 4436 96 Sep 8 2009 ftp6drwxrwxr-x 4 32227 4436 96 May 7 19:17 ftp7drwxrwxr-x 4 32227 4436 96 May 7 19:17 ftp8drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 96 Jun 6 2007 lost+foundlrwxr-xr-x 1 32227 4436 8 Feb 12 2008 pub -> ftp1/publrwxrwxr-x 1 0 0 9 Dec 13 2007 save -> ftp1/savedr-xr-xr-x 4 0 3 96 Sep 23 2003 usr Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Night Owl Posted July 19, 2010 Share Posted July 19, 2010 If you know what folder and subfolders to go into, you can get updates and tools for your HP or Compaq computer.I would recommend going to HP's Website, selecting your country, clicking on Support & Drivers, and then entering your product name and number. Bookmark the website that has the updates for your computer and its version of Windows. That way you will clearly see what updates and tools/utilities apply to your computer.
