LeetPirate
So all of a sudden NOD32 starts detecting tonyblair's ashBase.dll fix for avast pro. It's being detected as a variant of Win32/Packed.VMProtect.AAA virus. It was never detected before, why is ESET concerned about this file all of a sudden? Anyone else getting problems with this? I wonder if Avast will start detecting it too... never a good sign. We should try to report this as false positive to ESET.

LeetPirate
Something else weird just happened, avast just detected Notepad++ v5.5 installer as malware. Something's not right.
Administrator Lite Posted June 11, 2010 Administrator Share Posted June 11, 2010 The NOD32 detection is from the packer used by tonyblair (VMProtect) [its a generic signature/ heuristic detection], looks like they are going to start branding this packer as malware from now on. Its happened with other packers previously.
