It actually automates the process of cleaning up the registry keys related to trial expiry. Only use it if you know what you're doing though, as it can also false identify legitimate data and damage your PC (like all cleaners!)

I cheked on two machines without anti-malware and with :(

1. Open Command Prompt.
   
2. Type regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSCOMCTL.OCX

However, you should search for MSCOMCTL.OCX first.

If it's not found on your system, then you should restore it.

'MSCOMCTL.OCX' is a component of Visual Studio. If it's not present in your C:\Windows\System32 directory, you could download 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' and paste it into the directory.

:hehe: You're late, Alex0007's issue is already resolved. BTW, it's preferable to keep the 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' in the C:\Windows\System32 directory for 2 reasons; firstly, it belongs there by design and secondly it's a one-time-procedure. ;)

Well it's obvious that it's late, maybe someone else will have the issue.

I just offered a newer version than dcs18.

Since I only have Trial-Reset so far I choose not to register it in C:\Windows\System32.

Why not provide a link with mscomctl.ocx included.

That's because it's impossible to include files (to the Programs) . . . . . . . . that are missing from others system. :huh:

Hey Guys,

I chased the "mscomctl.ocx is missing" message up and down the web a few times. I finally got the prog in; here is what worked for me.

I have Win 7 x64. Turns out I needed to put the mscomctl.ocx in windows>syswow64.

Now, can anybody post on how to use freaking thing. The "help files" weren't much help, at least to me.

Hi, I"m new to this forum..I just installed trial reset..Previously, i installed "Private WiFi" trial version to have anonymity..Now I want to install it again..But how can I remove the key in the registry..I don't know how to use Trial Reset...Anyone knows how to do it..Thanks in advance....

After install no extra protection keys were added to the registry, so I don't think Trial-Reset will work with this.

Doing a traced install/uninstall with revo uninstaller only gives a "already used a free trial" message. Maybe IP address is checked?

1st point is "Trial Reset 4.0" doesn't need installation...that's a portable tool;

and 2nd about using it:

you have to know what kind of protection THE trial software is using, so then "Trial Reset 4.0" can help you;

Download "ProtectionID v6.4" scan the trial .exe file(I considered a usual case)

you'll see some words like these at scanning log:

or

[!] Armadillo v7.20 or newer! >>>> PROBABLY Trial reset 4.0 can find the trial keys and you can delete them, BUT if you already have some application with Armadillo keys installed, you delete the keys, then that software gets UNregistered...

therefore you should know what's going on your system! :D

Virtual Machine is recommended!
