I want to buy one of these, they cost the same € 174,99, but I wonder what´s the difference between the two models ?

Maybe someone can clear this up for me ?

Thanks !

José

lurch i'm afraid is WRONG neither of the drives is SSD. WD Elements SE

WDBG8A0060BBK-WESN : Item Weight ‎8.1 ounces : Product Dimensions ‎4.33 x 0.92 x 3.21 inches : Item Dimensions LxWxH ‎4.33 x 0.92 x 3.21 inches : Color ‎Black : Hard Drive Interface ‎USB 2.0/3.0 : Hard Drive Rotational Speed ‎5400 RPM : <<a SSD wouldnt have any rotational speed..

Main difference.. 1 is a 2.5in portable and the other is a 3.5in portable which will require a power source..

then of course depending on the size will depends on how is stores the data..

there are 2 types.. the old style.. where the drive just writes the data to the disk.. or the new style.. where before it writes it loads previous data into memory and then writes the data to the drive.. old style is used in BIGGER drives.. smaller drives use the new style

I have a 5tb WD SES 2.5in new style.. whereas my old samsung's used the older more reliable old method.. aka the bigger drives use now..

simple reason they did it.. MONEY.. old style requires more room. new style means they can store more on a smaller area.. = bigger drives.

I only said ONE of them was. So I thought. And I can thank this misleading page for my error:
