flash13
Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. And even though the calls are free, they are really excellent quality. If you and your friends, family or business contacts are using webcams, you can also make free video calls. You can even call landlines and mobile phones at really cheap per minute rates (and there's no setup or subscription fee). Audio and HD video calling. Call recording and Live subtitles. Smart messaging. Ability to Call phones. Screen sharing. Private conversations with with industry standard end to end encryption. All with Skype. funkyy
I thought Microsoft retired Skype as of today...5th May????? Oh, and Teams doesn't work on Windows 7.....a fact that Microsoft omitted from their propaganda information reminding us how easy it was going to be to transfer our Skype data to Teams. I let them have both barrels. EDIT 2:- Just discovered this on PortableApps.com "sPortable assists you with running Skype™ in a portable way without needing to install it in Windows. Make free audio and video calls as well as instant message with other users. Calling landline and mobile phones and sending SMS messages is available with a subscription." EDIT 3:- Doesn't work meh Edited Monday at 11:07 PM by funkyy sPortable version of Skype---doesn't work lurch234

funkyy Posted yesterday at 02:41 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:41 AM @Matt First of all, I grovel at your feet...I had tried to install "Teams", I tried the Skype version on PortableApps .com, which didn't work. I told all my Skype family contacts in the UK and Australia that our Skyping days were over, and just a short time ago today I uninstalled the final working version of Skype. So when I tried your link above I wasn't really expecting it to work (Oh ye of little faith)....but to my great surprise and relief it installed, and my contacts are all in place as well. I'm happier than a pig in sh*t. Thanks a million for ending my depression. Now I need to tell my sisters and cousins to install this working version so we can have our video calls again. How can this version still work without Microsoft's interference? ...and how could it save my contacts list and details? This seems like magic to me. lol. Thanks a million Matt and Logic. rseiler
Just to clarify, 8.150.0.125 will prevent using Skype now, but using the previous version will only get you so far as MS is gradually shutting down the back-end this week for the entire Skype network regardless of version. As of May 12 at the latest, this will include everyone.
jvidal
do not download this, it'll just tell you that skype is retired, it's useless.
