@Nambisan What browser do you use? I have tested both in Brave (my default browser) and also in Firefox but it's still not working in new build 37. It only works in "embed" mode, not in "standard" mode.

Please also post which video you tested with. Because some are working in "standard" mode and others are only working in "embed" mode.

I use this video for testing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=387Ag4Jyy6M

Today build 36 worked for me in Brave. :)

When I wrote this earlier I meant in "embed" mode. I forgot to write that.

No option to download in 4k even after login.

Forgot to answer this too earlier. The video isn't available in 4K (1080p is the highest resolution for that video). So it can't be downloaded in 4K because it doesn't exist.

@fnsfernando I tested with Opera now (same version as you 119.0.5497.38) and it didn't work with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=387Ag4Jyy6M. Only working in embed mode.

Does that video work for you? IDM shows the complete list with all available resolutions?

@fnsfernando Great you posted screenshot to confirm. I will continue to try to figure out what could be causing the error for me and many others. It's really a mystery, but it must be possible to find the solution in some way.

I tested with Brave "Version 1.78.93 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)" portable. It's working fine.

@shwescorpion Tested now with portable Brave but still the same problem. I'm starting to think the problem is not related to which browser I use.  It must be something else in my computer that's causing it.

IDM 6.42 Build 35 works on Chrome browser. Not updated to B36 yet.

Windows 11 Enterprise  24H2 Build 26100.3476

Strange. I have 360p option only with IDM b35, 36, 37 now. Tested on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and all are the same.

Now using a VPN and another IP, everything works. It seems YT has limitations for some IPs, and IDM can't overcome this.

TraineeSaint

Greetings from the UK

I, too, am having issues with IDM.

Youtube clips can only be downloaded in 360p format. I have tried different browsers to no avail. I have tried different operating systems W7/11 and again no

change. I have also tried a VPN and, again, no change!

What is going on with IDM? Other sites are not affected like rumble for example?

I am using an alternative (Muziza) and that downloads in 1080p from youtube by default from my location.

For me the problem never stop, now in new build 38. It doesn't work when using my original Swedish IP. Now I also tried with VPN both with US and UK IP but it still refuse to work in "standard" mode. It's so frustrating!

It only works in embed mode if I first press Ctrl+F5 in browser at the embed page.

@J4NY4R What country did you use when you tested with VPN?

By Softehter VPN and 171.6.53.100, no problem.

Today with new build 40, it's finally fully working for me at Youtube without the need to use embed mode any longer!

Build 40 STILL DOESN'T WORK !!??

I have switched to Muziza, no problems with this.

I can use IDM for other sites or screen recording.

@Martin, how did you get it to work?

This ongoing problem with only being able to download in 360p has been ongoing for a couple of months now!

I didn't do anything except just updating IDM to 6.42.40.

This is one of the strangest problems I have seen in a software.

• Some users never got the problem at all in any build.

• Some users had the problem but it was solved in different builds. For @Nambisan it was solved in build 37 and for me it was solved in build 40.

• Also for some users (like you) it still doesn't work. You can't do much about it, just wait for the next build and hope it will work then. In the meantime use embed mode.
