Microsoft Teams is a team collaboration application developed by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products, offering workspace chat and video conferencing, file storage, and integration of proprietary and third-party applications and services. Teams replaced other Microsoft-operated business messaging and collaboration platforms, including Skype for Business and Microsoft Classroom. Microsoft Teams launched in 2017, Teams has transformed the way organizations communicate and collaborate, especially in an increasingly remote and hybrid work environment. At its core, Microsoft Teams brings together people, conversations, and content, serving as a hub for teamwork and communication.

@jvidal we will update the links once Microsoft takes Skype down completely. Also, they will be ending the classic version. We have provided whatever links they are providing, but I'm sure once everything finalized by them, they will provide new download links.

@underpressure those links are for the classic,  free? which version?

edit: those seem to be for the classic version, which will be retired soon.

I don't think that they make an offline installer version for new Teams. It's misleading to say that the online one is useless though, since it does in fact work (again, be sure that you also have App Installer on Win11).

Sure, if you need to install a fleet of 100 you may want an offline version, but free Teams is not one that often (or ever) fits that scenario, so they haven't made many corporate accommodations for it.

Uh, having said that, my information could be a tad out of date:

why do they have to make things so complicated???? a single exe/msi installer is the best option.

anyway, thanks for the info!

confirmed. teams classic no longer works. it tries to redirect you to get the newer version, which is like a web-app running the browser.
