Karlston
Footage gives us glimpses of Lex Luthor, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and Superman's plucky little white dog Kryto. David Corenswet stars in James Gunn's Superman reboot. The Internet has been buzzing the last few days about James Gunn's Superman reboot slated for release next year. The studio released a "motion poster" earlier this week set to a moody cover of John Williams' "Superman March," as well as a teaser for a teaser for the film. That teaser just dropped. Clearly, given all the buildup, what director James Gunn wants for Christmas is for everyone to get excited over his Superman movie. And you know what? It kinda worked, especially since Superman's dog Krypto makes an adorably welcome appearance. Gunn describes his take as less of an origin story and more of a journey, with Superman struggling to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage and aristocratic origins with his small-town, adoptive human family. Gunn tapped David Corenswet to play Clark Kent/Superman, at 25 a bit more established than the young cub reporter of Smallville, for instance. Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo plays Jimmy Olsen, and Nicholas Holt is arch-nemesis Lex Luther. (Holt's son shaved his head for the role.) Luther's sidekicks are played by Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher and Terence Rosemore as Otis. The cast also includes Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern (sporting a disastrous bowl haircut); Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, who can transmute elements in his body to change forms; Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, an inventor turned superhero; Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angela Spica/The Engineer, whose abilities stem from embedded nanotechnology; and Pruitt Taylor and Neva Howell as Clark's parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent, respectively. We'll also see Frank Grillo reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr. from the animated series Creature Commandos; Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord; and Milly Alcock as Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. Our Man of Steel looks a bit battered as he lies in the snow. YouTube/DC Kypto is a very good boi and saves Superman. YouTube/DC Superman as his Clark Kent alter-ego is fittingly nebbishy. YouTube/DC Rachel Brosnahan plays Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. YouTube/DC Nicholas Holt partly based his Lex Luthor on Michael Rosenbaum's portrayal in Smallville/ YouTube/DC Superman faces off against Lex Luthor. YouTube/DC That bowl haircut might be iconic for Green Lantern, but it does nothing for Nathan Fillion. YouTube/DC Superman mourns a fallen robot. YouTube/DC If you could read her mind... Superman + Lois 4 evah YouTube/DC The two-minute teaser opens on a desolate snowy landscape as Superman plummets from the sky and hits the ice... hard. He lies there, bloodied and struggling for breath, as we get intercut scenes of him as Clark Kent, of Brosnahan's Lois in the newsroom, of Clark with his dad back on the farm. Then our downed superhero whistles sharply and who should come running but Krypto. "Good dog. Home," Superman rasps. "Take me home." And the little white dog obliges, taking a piece of cape in his mouth and dragging Superman to safety. That's almost the only dialogue in the whole teaser, which just gives us glimpses of the rest of the cast in action. We don't know much about the plot, but it's no surprise that we get some great action shots, including a fire-breathing gigantic monster causing havoc. And there's naturally a budding romance with Clark/Superman and Lois in between all the action. Gunn has a great track record, so we're looking forward to his take on this iconic comic book superhero. Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post.
