VirusTotal, how to tell if it's a false positive?

I have a question for you, maybe someone knows. My English is not good. but online translator helps a lot.

 

The question is:

 

VirusTotal I would like to know if a file contains malware or if it's a false positive. There are a fix now new website looks differed now

I always use VirusTotal to check the files and you can see from the bar under the number of files found whether it's ok or not. Now they've changed the look at VirusTotal, now where can I tell if it's malware or false positive?

I would like to know if a file contains malware or if it's a false positive or are there good alternatives to checking online.

From experience I don't trust VirusTotal.  I prefer checking the file with Kaspersky antivirus.

I would pay more attention to the results from more reputable vendors on the page. Plus I pay attention on the kind of threat they report.
