Administrator Matt Posted September 11 Administrator Share Posted September 11 Acronis Home is an integrated software suite that ensures the security of all information on your PC. It can back up all the data you need and securely destroy all confidential data you do not need anymore. With Acronis Home, you will be able to back up selected files and folders, Windows applications settings, Microsoft e-mail client settings and messages, or entire disks and partitions, as well as permanently destroy files and wipe personal information from partitions and/or entire disks and clean all traces of user activity from your Windows system. Plus, Pack is an add-on module featuring enhancements like the flexibility to restore files, applications and an operating system to dissimilar hardware as well as providing support for dynamic disks and Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environments (WinPE). funkyy
As a longtime user of Macrium Reflect I resisted other more expert posters' advice saying how good Acronis is. But finally I decided to have a look (curiosity killed the cat)......... I installed it and found it a bit too complicated for my level of ability. So I decided to uninstall it with Total Uninstall. It seemed to be designed to resist being uninstalled but finally it was gone and I shut down my computer. Then today when I tried to boot my machine I got a blue screen with details that Windows wouldn't start in order to avoid something potentially "harmful" to my computer. That was the first time I had seen such a message in all the years that I've had a computer. I tried rebooting but Windows wouldn't start...message "a device or component" was to blame or "A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting". Baloney!! Fortunately, I had my Macrium PE disk, and I booted into that and restored a recent image. I will be avoiding Acronis in future. Edited September 14 by Matt Added space between the paragraphs. Nuclear Fallout
@funkyy I have only the boot disk, just in case. Other than that I actually use only Macrium. fnsfernando and funkyy
