Marlboro_Red
Hello. I have a laptop running win10 home and am looking for a way to reduce if not eliminate the bloat and telemetry native to win10. At the moment I am unable to install win10 ltsc iot as I have a lot of important information on this current win10 install which I shall deal with in the future not now. I would like for my laptop to run smoother and to reduce if not eliminate telemetry without it running into any issues or other vulnerabilities. I would also like to know what to use on the ltsc ioe install in the future for this same purpose,Ideally it should be the same program although if it isn't there are no complaints on my part. I would like for it to be open source so that another more digitally enclined and passionate person can verify if it has any backdoors, malware or other "bad things" inside. On my old pc I have donotspy10, I have also heard of shutup10, w10privacy. What do you know about this subject? What could you suggest me about it? CyDeViL
I did disable unused windows services long time ago, include telemetry., copilot. I cant even remember which one to disable now 😁 . Disable windows services can break some things, if you want a very simple thing, can use DNS to block. register and set NextDNS profile. Set up at Network & ethernet - DNS server as DOH It's have many useful features, block ads, telemetry etc. The only downside using this is when you connect through vpn, it wont work unless you setup the dns at vpn option. NextDNS is free, alternative you can try ControlD with similar function. And if you like setup this way, i recom to try YogaDNS with YogaDNS, you can use multiple dns. Eg. for Steam, gaming domain to use specific dns. You can see all domain querry in YogaDNS, also with NextDNS you can check log via web Edited September 7 by CyDeViL
bigbrother
Please ENSURE you have a backup of your files before proceeding! Additionally, I highly recommend you read through the page in its entirety to better understand what each script does. You would probably be best served by using the "Standard" preset at the top. The better way is to clean directly the .iso itself but you need to learn a few things about DISM. On 9/7/2024 at 3:46 AM, Marlboro_Red said: What could you suggest me about it ? If you don't want to learn, you should look after to something similar to the MSMG Toolkit. Because I haven't see any update (none topics) since 5 months ago and I don't know if the creator is still there. PS : Which forum ? For the moment, I don't remember. phen0men4
