Microsoft One Drive - Takes control of documents directory.

It appears that MS is looking for new revenue streams by “encouraging” (making it difficult to decline) users to employ OneDrive, which for most users will require signing up for additional server capacity.  OneDrive takes over the Documents, Pictures, etc. folder paths, making them subdirectories of the OneDrive folder path (so my directory structure is changed).  Apparently there are ways to fix this, but so far none of them work (for me).

Hopefully, somewhere there is a clear, simple set of instructions for a fix.  Anyone know where?

Thanks and regards
