My advise is to use a reputable paid VPN service, like the big names in the industry. I'm not naming any as this is a serious and risky decision to make. At the end of the day, https encryption (TLS/SSL) should secure the connection, unless your VPN provider is actively spying on the connections which is actually illegal. Administrator Solution Popular Post Matt Posted May 12 Administrator Solution Popular Post Share Posted May 12 @6565656 I agree with what @DLord said above, and I would like to add that using a VPN to access your bank may request identity verification if you connect to a server in an odd place, such as a foreign nation you don't often visit. Should I use a VPN? Yes, if it's a trustworthy VPN service "As mentioned above they are mostly paid ones": Make sure the VPN provider you use has robust encryption standards and a no-logs policy. Your data may be at risk if you use a free or shaky VPN service. Also, as it mentioned above that all banks are using HTTPS encryption, and to make sure that you are secured check your browser settings if TLS 1.3 protocol is enabled. It is mostly enabled on the Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera latest versions, and I would highly recommend not for just banking to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocols for all websites. For instance, in order to guarantee that all users of nsaneforums.com feel secure and that they don't have to worry about their personal information being compromised when visiting the site, the community only accepts connections from TLS 1.2 as a minimum. When should I use a VPN? The only time I used a VPN is if I was using a public Wi-Fi network. If you want to avoid any problems with your bank, I suggest opening the account from the same area and city that you usually using your online banking. Exercise caution as public networks may lack security. Sensitive transactions are usually safer when carried out over a private, secure network. Generally speaking, using a VPN can give your online activities including financial transactions an additional degree of protection especially on public Wi-Fi network. vide, vitorio, DLord and 8 others
ConnerHunter
It's perfectly okay to use a VPN for banking transactions or accessing your bank login, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Using a VPN can add an extra layer of security, especially if you're on public Wi-Fi. I once used a VPN for a financial transaction while traveling and found it reassuring to know my connection was encrypted. I’ve used sticky residential proxies from https://proxyrotator.com/sticky-proxies/sticky-residential-proxies/ for this kind of thing, and they worked well for me. Most bank mobile apps should allow VPN use, but it’s always good to check with your bank if you face any issues. Just make sure your VPN service is reliable and secure! tedrickpanrell
I understand your concerns about using a VPN for banking. It's like walking a tightrope, isn't it? On one hand, a VPN is great for protecting your connection and keeping prying eyes away. But on the flip side, not all VPNs are created equal. Some might log your data or even sell it, which is a big no-no when it comes to banking. It's important to be cautious and aware of these potential threats.I use trusted VPN services with a solid reputation for security. Look for features like a no-logs policy and strong encryption. And don’t forget to check if the VPN is based in a privacy-friendly country! Also, constantly update your banking app and use two-factor authentication if possible. For extra peace of mind, check out resources like ID Analyzer to see how secure your transactions are.
