seems that FDM is a good alternative to Intenet Download Manager !!

Alternative . . . sure (and, there are plenty of alternatives.)

Good . . . not really as "good" enough.

Net Transport looks to have gone free.

At least its' "Buy" page says, "Free use of Net Transport."

(I've not actually used it, but I use the old 2.96 version, regularly & for many years now.)

An old topic, but (freeware) tiny Neat Download Manager is a good, spartan option with no batch capability, but solid even for video downloading. I'm using (on Win7 x64) an older 1.4.20 version with older 1.9.9 Mozilla addon.

App is really small.

What is the main trouble about JDownloader  ? Basically it's still require the JRE (aka "Java Runtime Environment") !

Unless you aren't aware, in the last decade a very huge number of security patches has been published ! That's why I won't recommend it (add the word "vulnerability" to discover the CVE (aka "Common Vulnerabilities Exposures") because it won't stop (unless they decide to rebuild the software without).

Another alternatives ? Even today we can use MiPony but the last portable version was published several years ago (apparently nobody find any interest or they vanished).

By the past, I had try find a good one but each time it was never the case. Right now I don't plan to try again (first of all I must find the time to clean my PC with a recent backup (a new OS with all the drives for the ghost image)).
