Administrator Matt Posted November 21, 2023 Administrator Share Posted November 21, 2023 Tor Browser is a privacy focused browser based on Firefox. Tor Browser isolates each website you visit so third-party trackers and ads can't follow you. Any cookies automatically clear when you're done browsing. So will your browsing history. It prevents someone watching your connection from knowing what websites you visit. It aims to make all users look the same making it difficult for you to be fingerprinted based on your browser and device information. Your traffic is relayed and encrypted three times as it passes over the Tor network. The network is comprised of thousands of volunteer-run servers known as Tor relays. With Tor Browser, you are free to access sites your home network may have blocked. Browse Privately. Explore Freely. Defend yourself against tracking and surveillance. Circumvent censorship. All with Tor Browser. Thanks to phen0men4 for the update. Download hpwamr, Leo.67, Jobik and 1 other 2
andy2004
Been using torbrowser.. saw there was an update.. so updated to the new version.. like always.. But.. after installing the update automatically.. clicking restart for it to close and reopen.. I get a GAH tab crash.. I open a new tab.. click on 1 of the links and instead of it loading up.. i get another Gah tab crash.. every time.. what happens when you click on the buttons.. restore this tab.. acts like it doing something. then same message.. close tab.. as only 1 tab is open shuts down the browser. This didnt happen in the previous release. simple fix.. go back to older version.. about:config type in update.. and change to disable. andy2004
I was using the portable.. 1301 installed working.. and it AUTOMATICALLY updated.. it restarted and thats when the ISSUE happened. I overwrote the 1304 with a backup of 1301 and disabled UPDATES.. via about:config >search update.. changed to FALSE.. it could be cause i'm on Windows 7.. not 11 /10/ 8 dont know.. but as soon as i went back to 1301 working again.. no GAH.. rubbish. phen0men4
1304; Win7, exactly the same message and update procedure. New tab or restart givs me Gah crashed, no bootstrap, on connect nothing, freezing, crashing. Redone the update process several times with some deviations, no luck.. and the same message every time. Sometimes browser crashes whatever i click on immediately after auto-update or manual update. (put back fresh backup before each attempt) On the seventh or eighth attempt, I was able to reach the hamburger menu.. however, did a clean exit again and restarted, updated normally this time and yeah, now 1304 is displayed and my unique .conf is intact. however, updating worked fine in win11, win10 and unix. Unique hardware on all computer(s) Fresh portable 1304 with default .conf seems to work for me on my Win7 Enterprise, but I have such unique .conf, so it's not an option for me, unnecessarily. Anyway, now everything is as it should be.. Note 1305 rls;ed and update from 1301 flows without problems via autoupdate, tested to see.
