@m345 My apologies, I thought it was another product, very confusing, ESET tells "ESET Home Security Premium" but it's just ESET Smart Security. :S

Confusing. I just bought ESET Home Essentials during the cyber deals 50% off. I can see some download links here, but it is not clear which one "Matches" my product key? Do you have to login/register, blah, blah?

EDIT: I just want to install the EXE and use my purchased product key.

This is where it takes me. ALL-IN-ONE PLANS leads to "Get Started". The download options are below this section. It's the download names that confuse me as far as which one matches my product key when it does not match any of them exactly?

EDIT: I plan on doing a clean install of Windows 11 Pro. After this I will install ESET. What I did was request a link in an email and backed up all of email in The Bat!. IOW, what I was worried about is would whatever they let me download would be connected to THIS INSTALLATION and NOT the NEW INSTALLATION.

i also bought a 1/2 price lic for home security essentials. .. for 2 devices. - it's the same as old EIS.

i registered with eset home, entered an email, entered lic, - activated.

pretty easy.

at eset home you control the key + devices.

i am no expert here, but i hope this helps.

i believe so. i may have even downloaded the free version trial, then went from there..

.. i was drinking beer.. lol.

i know at eset home, i was able to add or remove 2nd device..  my phone.

was the first time i have used eset home.

working fine here.. no diff from EIS as far as i can see.

This is true. Just like other software these days such as Kaspersky no matter what installation you pick to install your license key will turn the software to the one you bought.

Question, does anyone know if it is possible in EIS v17 to configure an Update Profile that points to your local folder - for the purpose of doing offline updates? In the previous version this was done by changing the "PackageFeatures" parameter in the registry;

What is the current situation for version 17 (ESET Internet Security)?

 

Note: Windows 24H2 makes it harder to install Eset Smart Security v8, (but still possible if you import and EDIT the registry settings from a previous PC). Although, I am still able to get the virus definition updates, the application itself has some none displaying areas like in the log file section, while other areas require making small changes for rules, otherwise it will not save too many changes all at once (as such for the firewall). I don't imagine there are lots of version 8 users these days - but the app still work believe it or not.

 

 

Does anyone like using AppGuard Solo v6.7.129.2 R2024-05-29 more then Eset?  But, I don't like subscription base payments - which is like renting until the end of time to use the same software.
