Administrator DKT27 Posted April 5, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 5, 2010 I can only give negative reviews about AVG AV. Used it for a long time and certainly will never recommend it.
Bizarre™
I have never used AVG... maybe in a virtual environment
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 5, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 5, 2010 Install it on your normal system, even a i7 + 2060MHz RAM wont be enough for it. For the malware scanning, AV comparatives speaks a lot.
Bizarre™
@DKT27:Why should I install AVG in my main OS when I already have NOD32 + COMODO?
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 6, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 6, 2010 If you wanna face problems. :PGoogle AVG 9 taking 100% CPU.This is one of the most well known problem of AVG. It comes right from v7.5. CPU usage jumps to 100%, no matter how much fast computer do you have. This all happens even when AVG is not scanning anything except the real time thingy. Millions of AVG users has switch from AVG to other AVs because of this problem(including me). And AVG people simply have no answer for it.

Administrator DKT27 Posted April 6, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 6, 2010 I don't wanna say anything against it. But sometimes I ask myself that why it's frontpaged. It doesn't get the highest of the marks nor it's low on system resources.
Bizarre™
@DKT27:I'm also wondering myself
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 6, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 6, 2010 You guys should consider it again. Yes I do remember the last time I said this, it was rejected. :P
Bizarre™
@DKT27:It's better to discuss it with Lite ^_^
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 6, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 6, 2010 Nah I don't wanna trouble Lite for these small matters. I'm only saying this to save you guys some time on updating. Also being on FP people would think about downloading it.
Bizarre™
@DKT27:Well Lite is the one who decides what is added / removed in the frontpage ^_^
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 6, 2010 Administrator Share Posted April 6, 2010 I thought you all had your opinion considered and Lite making the decision in the end.
jalaffa
I thought you all had your opinion considered and Lite making the decision in the end. :unsure:Something like that :) Removing AVG from the listing would seem a bit extreme. I'm not using it either.
Bizarre™
@DKT27:We have, but an opinion is only going to be an opinion until Lite decides something about it ^_^
