I have corrected on the download page as current links have updated. Macrium Reflect Free Edition is being discontinued. Their decision is final and irreversible. Macrium Reflect Free is out of the game.
capt_blake
This update supposedly fixes (check changelog) some of the peculiarities I've also experienced with the previous build of v8.1, - problems that let me uninstall it, it was pathetic frankly: -- slower backup speed (I was expecting an improvement, believing the release notes for v8.1): https://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW80/New+in+Version+8.1 -- the full (OS) backup failing at very end of the process with a fatal (red :)) error meaning 0 (unlike v8.0.x under the same conditions – smooth operation). -- no BSOD at my end (the reportedly now fixed BAD_POOL_HEADER exception), but I also avoid (experience…) the CBT driver (so got spared :)). As much a I really love Macrium Reflect, has been my only go-to backup solution on Windows for years, I’d rather wait for a few more “hot and cold” update-fixes before even considering to try again v8.1 Home ed. As I’ve already said, v8.0 Free is just great – have tested both backups and restore under WinPE; need no more at present.
